Linux helps M$oft?
Dec 9 2007  on Discussion

I came found something new the other day. While working on a client's Win XP machine... I reset it, unknowing there was a anti-virus CD in there. To my surprise "ISO Linux loading ect, ect." across the screen! My discovery was the anti-virus program had a linux based live-repair feature to restore specific windows files to working order! After some thought, I ask myself: Is saying that Linux is so good, it can even be used to restore your dieing windows... OR dose it suggest that Linux will become exploited by Microsoft or its partners? Just something I found interesting. While not really KDE related, It dose make one think. Dose anyone else find this interesting?

More Beryl issues
Sep 23 2007  on Discussion

More I might say...
About 3 out of 5 times I log in there was no Kicker and windows did not have borders or buttons so I had to use ALT+Left click to move them. But they wiggled like jello!

I don't think its my hardware as this was on a Athlon 64 3000+ with a Gig of ram and 128Mb detacated card (Im not using the crappy onboard video)

Beryl issues
Sep 23 2007  on Discussion

I had to delete and remove beryl within a day of installing it! Quite frustrating after spending 5+ hours downloading and installing all the parts and dependencies.
Im using KDE 3.5.5 on OpenSuSE 64Bit.
Beryl did not play well with Blender (Made X crash at seemingly random times and on Blender close)
Kicker crashed constantly and needed me to re-start it from Konsole to get it back.

But when it did work the shadows and window decorations made my desktop beautiful!

Maybe Ill wait for a newer version of Beryl or KDE4 before I try this again!

Has anyone had problems like this?

Looks good even if the red is kinda annoying to my eyes.

Re: Wallpapers RIP?
Sep 1 2007  on Discussion

Um... By whose definition should we deem a photo useless? Something for everyone right? I personally like the variety. Go on take any photo you want! Open our eyes to the everyday things that may be beautiful in their own special way!

Vista
Sep 26 2006  on poll What are people saying, when they see your desktop

Q: Is that a beta version of vista or an XP theme?
A: Nope its genuine ORIGINAL, UNIQUE, CLEVER, LINUX and KDE!

No windows installations exist on my personal computers.

we need more!
Jul 20 2006  on content blitz window decoration

I'm verrry tired of seeing rounded corners on KDE windows all the time. We need more new win-decs like this!! Boxed corners rule! (and they always will)
