YOu need to re-read your BSD license contract.
The only obligation you have is to give the orginal parties credit.
Nothing more.
That is the beauty of BSD license, you get true freedom to do what you want.
You can be nice and give it away, or you can keep it all for yourself. |

No, with the BSD license he is NOT required, in any way shape or form, to release any source.
That is the more restrictive GPL license you are thinking of. |

While im not able to do that myself, it makes a lot of sense to implement it that way.
Though i doubt Kget would understand it, since its a 2 way protocol while kget normally deals with 1 way.. ( incoming )
But yes, i would also love to see this, BT is a pain in the butt on *nix.. |

I agree that it is somewhat strange: 'you can see but you cant touch'
Making it a BSD-license would open it up 100% for improvements, and you still get credit for originating the app..
Making it a GPL-license also opens it up for improvements, but they have to give them back to the community as well..
Personally i prefer BSD style, as its more friendly to developers that have corporate issues to deal with. |

While working on the splash screen, PLEASE do something about the task bar icons too..
Espcially the 'star'.. it all has such a un-professional kiddy look to it.. makes it harder to 'sell' to management. |

Access also can connect thru any ODBC driver as well.
I agree though, rekal has promise, but it has a ways to go. Plus last i looked all the 'real' connectors were pay-only. ( but that might have changed ).
Ill wait for kexi, personally. wonder if they will add a 'runtime' eventually as well. |
