| Remove Wallpapers Nov 8 2001 on poll Should KDE unrelated content be deleted? | Actually, that wouldn't be a bad idea at all in my opinion. That's really the only problem with this site. Without all the floods of wallpaper, this site would be even better. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Darkness: Reborn Nov 7 2001 on poll Should KDE unrelated content be deleted? | I'd better hear you and the rest of you bitching about my new wallpaper being taken down if it is. After all, it won't kill you. ;) |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Follow the majority. Nov 6 2001 on poll Should KDE unrelated content be deleted? | And take all the non-KDE stuff crap off this site! Since you agree that KDE should only host what the majority wants, it should delete everything that isn't related to KDE since the majority, as the poll suggests, feels that'd be best.
Why do I complain about it? Because others complain that taking off these wallpapers would be censorship, and we can't have that now can we (except when it comes to political views with which I don't agree but will still make wallpapers of)? ;) |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Double Standards Nov 6 2001 on poll Should KDE unrelated content be deleted? | Actually I took that one off because I felt like I was getting my point across nicely that some wallpaper is inappropriate for KDE-Look.org. Same with the other wallpaper which also was meant to show that there needs to be some quality control to this site.
As for the person who emphasized that the gay wallpaper was offensive, you do feel the same about the nude woman one right?
What I find funny though is that so many people cry censorship if an erotic wallpaper is taken down yet nobody has any second thoughts of taking down my Hitler von Pingus wallpaper (which was more related to Linux because it actually had Tux on it). That is the only one I myself did not take down. This shows that some censorship is okay which means that they should have no problem taking down other offensive material.
As for the suggestion that non-KDE stuff that falls below 35% should be taken down, I don't agree because why should people be able to post pictures of naked women on the site which will get high scores yet you can't post similar pictures of men?
Let's quit with the double standards! |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | What I Want Oct 29 2001 on poll What do you want to see in KDE 3.0 | I really hope the alpha blending is better in KDE 3.0, especially in Konqueror. I know there are speed issues involved, but I think it'd be great and IMO it'd make KDE the most visually advanced desktop for Linux.
I don't think more styles and icons are important because that could always be made by the community. As for more applications, I would like a KDE Jabber client because the only one that's out now (Konverse) keeps dying so I've given up on hoping that becomes good. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Great News! Oct 29 2001 on news New mosfet news | It's good to hear that you're back Mosfet! I apologize if I sounded harsh in anything I said before. It's a shame that some people must exploit others but I'm happy to see that you aren't letting it shut you down because many if not most people who use KDE are greatful for the contributions you've given us. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | So what? Oct 27 2001 on news Liquid is dead | So what's wrong with using another style as a template to build one's own? Isn't that what the entire open source thing is about (i.e. not reinventing the wheel again). And maybe the code's not entirely different but it's not just a quick hack. It actually looks like QNiX and like a different theme. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | QNiX's Based On QNiX Oct 27 2001 on news Liquid is dead | Actually it is based on QNiX and not Mosfet's creation. Here's a picture of a QNiX window:
