| Moon? Jan 19 2009 on content All Day Long (Animated Wallpaper) | This is great! Looks really nice too :)
Just one little question. Why isn't the moon shown in the night picture (number 8 I think), when the moon in real life is most visible, while it is still shown at all other times of the day, when in real life it mostly is invisible? The night picture is the only picture without the moon. I'm confused... :S |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Amarok 2.0 Dec 18 2008 on content G15-Simple | As I wrote in the changelog, I'm not a big fan of Amarok 2.0 (I did try to use it for a while), while Amarok 1.4.x is exactly what I want. I'm just waiting for Exaile to get a little better so I can stop relying on old software (unless someone forks old Amarok).
I switched to Gnome a while ago just because I didn't want to run KDE 4 (it's just not the same thing) and had switched my view of Gnome over the previous few months.
Good luck porting anyway! :) |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Just switched Jun 12 2007 on poll Are you using a 3D effects enabled Window Manager? | I did run Beryl on my desktop computer for a while after Kubuntu Edgy was released, but gave it up after a while cause I didn't use its features and other 3D apps suffered badly of the required X.org settings (nVidia GeForceFX 5200 card, ran beryl with nvidia setup). The desktop's CPU is crap, too. (2.4 GHz Celeron w/ 128 kb cache...)
I then installed it on the laptop (Acer Travelmate 4202WLMi) when I upgraded it to Kubuntu Feisty. (Let's just say, the laptop CAN handle Beryl, as opposed to the desktop.) Although, after upgrading Beryl to the snapshots packaged by Treviño, the screensaver lock started acting up. Either the password box appeared under the screen saver (invisible, but usable), or the screensaver didn't show up, just the password box (which was kinda cool). Because of this, I went back to KWin. I hope KWin 4 can satisfy my "needs" ;) |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | radioOff in 0.5.4 Oct 12 2006 on content Kwlan | At least for my ipw3945 card, the radioOff detection in 0.5.4 doesn't work. device/power/state is always 0... For ipw based cards, you should check device/rf_kill (which is 0 if radio is on, more info at http://ipw2100.sourceforge.net/, just search for "rf_kill" on the title page). I would fix this, but I don't have any time to do it. For now, 0.5.3 works fine for me.
Also, I have no bssinfo file, so ESSID and Channel aren't shown. Seems like /sys/class/net isn't following many standards for wireless cards... |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Re: Gentoo ebuild... Sep 6 2006 on content Kwlan | It would be quite good if you could integrate the main icon functionality into the interface icons to reduce clutter in the systray.
If no interfaces are found, then show the main icon only. When interfaces ARE found, having a main icon looks pointless.
Would that be hard? After a quick look in the source code, it doesn't look like that's the case... |

| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Bug in 0.5.1 Aug 3 2006 on content Kwlan | The reason is this little bit of code in kwlantraywin.cpp (from line 192):
int index = wData.linkQuality.find('/');
if (index != -1)
index = wData.linkQuality.left(index).toInt();
else index = 100;
When radio is off, iwconfig says the Link Quality is 0, not 0/100, hence, index is -1.
I'll have a go at trying to write a patch that can show if radio is off instead. (iwconfig prints "radio off" before "ESSID:") |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Bug in 0.5.1 Aug 3 2006 on content Kwlan | In KWlan 0.5.1, the systray icon for my wireless connection never change to weak connection, even when signal strength is 0 (radio off) according to the tool-tip.
Just thought I should let you know. |
