I used metacity for the transparent panel. And I even disabled compiz for seeing the true results.

And no editing required :)

I will test it when I get home. Currently running Compiz-fusion. Tuned into a lighter version. But some options are currently messed up i will fix it ASAP. When its done and ready and after testing your pannel ill update the post on Debian admin. Or make an combo guide of installing compiz fusion and your theme for transparent panel.

And all of that its great work you made. And i am realy enjoying it.

Grats,
Devendra

Did not work. Ive tested it and it gives an normal clear looks panel. With ecception of the buttons.

I think my Metacity beta is not working properly.

Seems like Metacity is the problem. Ill find out how to configure metacity to set transparent panels etc.

Grats,
I know the problem's source!

I am an windows hate machine. Since I always get key logged and lose my access to my favorite porn sites ;)

Ive tried to mess around with the "gtkrc" and the "panel.rc" nothing gets transparent. So i am wondering what does make it transparent.

I know transparent images does the job. Ive converted all the images in the panel directory to 75% opacity.

Ported back to Linux. And add it to the dir. And nothing went transparent but just lighter. I think there should be an effect button for it.

Currently lurking trough the "Dark Ice" theme of some one else with does have a success full transparent panel.

Ive also tried a metacity hack. With did only made my computer lag. Since the newest metacity beta contains eye candy suck as making stuff transparent without much higher load then normal.

Till now here is a list i attemted to do:
Making all pictures transparent "Fail"
Metacity beta "fail"
Editing (so far) "fail"

Still working on it to be honest :)

But Ive noticed the transparent panel does seem to work on the default themes such as "Clear Looks"

Regards,
Devendra
