| Re: Re: Non-flat background crash Gtk Dec 16 2010 on content QtCurve (KDE4, KDE3, & Gtk2 Theme) | For some reason, when I rebuild QtCurve-Gtk2 with -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Debug, the problem goes away. I'm only seeing crashes with -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release. |

QtCurve 1.8.1 worked fine. Any guesses? |

| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Case sensitivityy Feb 26 2008 on content QtCurve (KDE4, KDE3, & Gtk2 Theme) | I am using KDE4 SVN trunk with qt-copy (currently based on a snapshot of Qt 4.4).
For the past couple of weeks, my Gtk2 applications have defaulted to using QtCurve's default, blueish colour scheme instead of my chosen colours. Firefox had also been defaulting to a 12pt Sans font instead of my chosen font.
Looking through the source code tonight, I finally found the problem.
When QtCurve looks through ~/.config/Trolltech.conf, it reads settings from a section called "[Qt]" (title case). The problem is that my section was somehow named "[qt]" (lowecase). All of my other Qt4 and KDE4 programs were able to handle the lowercase [qt] section fine...
Maybe QtCurve could be adjusted to match [Qt] case insensitively? |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Beautiful! Dec 12 2007 on content radial | Beau~ti~ful! This is the kind of shockingly good design that gets my attention in a hurry, then turns out to be usable even after I've tried it. ^_^
I love how the border seems to go well with all kinds of colour schemes and backgrounds, and _love_ how the buttons are so easy to adapt to other themes.
It would be awesome if you could make a Help button, as well. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Interesting effect May 11 2007 on content Domino Orange (CooL) | It's an interesting effect, what you did with the buttons with the second preview... It looks like their glow comes from within, not from light cast on it. And also, the glow seems to shine straight out from the source instead of being diffused evenly across the whole surface. Very interesting. I wonder if I can tweak my own colour scheme into something like that? ^_^ |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Apr 13 2007 on content kONE | I love this. Loooove~~
I was impressed by this at first sight, but I wasn't certain how much I'd like this in the long term since I had already modified Kopete's default style to suit my preferences...
But after having used it for almost a month now, I must say I'm still as in love with this style as I was on the first day. ^_^ Beatiful work. |

| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Orange Apr 4 2007 on content Feisty New Human | I like this one a lot. ^_^ I did a bit of minor touching up to make it blend in more with my colour scheme and give it a hint of translucency, but I'm generally very pleased with Ubuntu's colour schemes and the understated, yet not minimalist, elegance of their design.
The glow effect on the buttons is brilliant, too. It's been so long since I saw that kind of glow that I had almost forgotten that it's possible for the symbols, rather than their backgrounds, to light... |
