I voted for Matrix... but the the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy is also pretty cool - though I really love only the first two books. The third is also ok but the last two books are completely weird. But it has the advantage of being five books in one trilogy.

Dunno, count another vote for the Guide, too. :)

Wouldn't 5 books make a pentalogy instead of trilogy?

Actually it's "a trilogy in five parts" :). It's weird, but that's how it is ;).

More exactly to quote Douglas Adams: It's a quadripartite trilogy in 5 books

 trilogie of what ?

Book, movies, other, any ?

I don't know, but it seems to me these are all movies. But as other comments speak of books, I'm getting lost. So I'm lead to think 'any'

In this case, the best trilogy can only be a book. Any movie is so much more borring than it's related book, in wichever order they were made (the book from the movie or the movie from the book ). Anyway, I'dd vote for 'The lord of The Ring', isn't it obvious from someone pseudoed gollum ?

But since I saw the first movie, I disliked it. I didn't even saw the third one before this winter, when my little sister watch it on TV. And it didn't change my opinion, this is one of the worst movie I ever wached, when the book is one of the best I ever read.

Good point. The Borne movies are better than half of those in the list.
