 new version new bug

Sadly some bugs in 3.4 were not in 3.4rc1
is it just me or does the scheme not save in konsole anymore?

Hmmm... Works just fine for me. I'd backup and remove ~/.kde directory and see if the problem persists.

 Beware

Kuser in kde 3.4.0 has a serious bug that can damage your user account - see http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100443
The bug wasn't present in kde-3.3.x, so I wonder when did the regression happen.

Other than that kde-3.4.0 is very stable, nice and fast (and can be made lightweight using gentoo split kde ebuilds).

Is there a fix or work around to prevent this damage? What exactly happens?

Any time you modify user account, Kuser sets the UID to 0, home directory to an empty string and the account will expire after a day.
The only workaround I know is to use useradd/usermod/userdel instead (or alter the /etc/passwd and /etc/group by hand).

Will this bundle work?

The problem i've got slow enough machine, kdelibs would build there in ~8h (guess the time to compile base+pim), but I need the box up w/ kde environment running every day.

Best regards, Mirya

Should work OK. KDElibs is meant to be backwards-compatible.

I'm out of free disk space, in fact, but I'd love to test it out :)

Gonna solve the problem with the free disk space, and then download sources.

Is it really as good as it promises? :)

 KDE 3.4

I've compiled KDE 3.4 with Konstruct ( cd meta/kde; make install ). Since I use Quanta for my PHP programming I'm missing the KTextEditor Autobookmarker plugin...

Anyone? Was it removed, or I'm missing some files, did not compile something?
