Personally i use OFM's for filemanagment since i learned Norton Commander 20 years ago (yea, i'm an old guy ;-) ) , i was never able to adapt to one-panel filemanagers afterwards.
Krusader uses many great idea's that came originally from other filemangers, other ideas where added by the Krusader Krew, and some more ideas where added after user requests. So thanks for the url. Suggestions for new Krusader features are always welcome in our Krusader forum btw. http://krusader.sourceforge.net/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=6 Matej Urbancic used almost every available filemanager that's availble to see what it does ;)
The backdraw regarding xplorer² is that it's not free/libre (opensource) and does not work on Linux.
True, every application can be made better, gazillion ideas are on the krusader todo list, waiting for implementation. http://krusader.sourceforge.net/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=10

I am a great fan of konqueror, and one of my favorite feature is the double panel with ctrl+shift+l What can krusader do that konqueror can't in double panel mode please ?

Save it as a profile and can be recalled super fast.

"Krusader" and "Konqueror". How nice does it sounds. And the origin, from words crusade and conquer. Kudos open source. Somethig from microsoft what just explore, it can't beat them :-)

What's about Krusader. But here are yet some problems with big directories management in Konqueror. The same for Nautilus. But Nautilus in Gnome 2.14 is very responsive and much more fast and adaptable:

I don't have yet the knowledge to guess Why graphical File Managers are so scaring. But I switched again to Gnome after a KDE ride an a very large "Window" Managers route.

In my opinion OFM is better and a very robust standard. Thats why I never will abandon the better: a well configured * MC *

¿What will happen when you speak too loud and too soon? Ask Linus what is thinking about Gnome 2.14 release.

Then, you could stick to the great Thunar. A very light app and a fresh look into the "graphic" file-managers.

I have made some simple Lua scripts for it, adding some file manipulation capabilities and other tricks. It is very easy on the eyes, practical and responsive.

I know: Thunar can't do many freak things that Nautilus and Konqueror do, but I'm very happy to contribute his name here. We all have our own binary-open-mainstream: "Konqueror vs. Nautilus".
WTF...

Open file-managers can't recognise simple human errors yet: Think about that simple copy, move, erase, "UNDO" thing.

Yes it is too late to be giving opinions here but, you must see gnome 2.4, there is an option to show text bar in preferences.

ION3+GTK2+Rxvt+Lua+Dash and a beautiful Wallpaper. That is what I call: GNU/Linux !! You ever may call it [...] whatever.

I use nautilus for the fact its a little more faster than Konqueror. I don't use Gnome or KDE, fluxbox ftw. Nautilus does that I need for a filemanager. Not as a hog like Konqueror. I wish KDE never intergrated Konqueror the web browers into its filemanager.

Only down side with Nautilus is the lack of nice features.

What you think about Thunar like a good matching complement for light desktops?

I just insist, in a more traditional aproach, that I will prefer my warm console to the graphical aproach whistles.

MC for example is thin, but has an outstanding power. I know, it is more complicated. I.E. mime types. But you have more control and bare bone resources too.

I'm just married with ION, it is the definitive desktop. Sorry, a definitive anti-desktop.

What is the more powerful "desktop" for average users? ION3 + MC + Rxvt (What a combo).
