 xmms won't work

by loki on: Sep 14 2004

I also installed X11R6.8.0 successfully ("rpm -Uvh *rpm" works) and everything seems to be running just fine... except xmms.
It crashes badly on startup, reporting an X error.

Hi! I've Suse 9.1 too. but XMMS is working good. But my favorite plugin "On Screen Display" doesn't work. And new fonts are ugly, imho.
I'll downgrade X11.

Well actually I have already installed it and after adding some little details to xorg.conf (XF86config-4 substitution) and running xcompmgr -Ccf I got nice shadows on every window and nice fading effects (some buggs). Its pretty easy to find how to do this.
Hope you try it and like it.
Take care, bye.
