Yes, mosfet.org is back but may not be for long since Future Technologies has been trying to shut me down. Check out the website for more information. Daniel M. Duley mosfet@interaccess.com

 Idea 4 Liquid...!

Daniel,

I know you said you will not respond to stuff about
Linux, but I have an idea. I will glady do Project
Management for Liquid on SourceForge for you. That
way, you won't have to do anything at all for it. The
only thing I would ask is that it be GPL'd as projects
on SourceForge that use the GPL are more readily
accepted for project status on SF.

 Response 2 Email

by anonymous on: Nov 5 2001

This is the response I got from Mosfet in an email I sent him:

"Thanks for the offer, but I would rather do development on my own site
than
on one of VA's. Plus, I don't use the GPL (never did, never will)."

This is of course regarding my above comment, I sent him a duplicate email. So, what I glean from his response is that Liquid is NOT dead.

 Liquid is dead ?

( Sorry for my lack of english )
So what... I personnaly don't like Liquid as much as some above individuals. Yet it is pretty but it is not my personal taste. I prefer KDevHP-like themes.

Regarding impolite Linux users:
I don't understand that: intelligent people reacting to insulting linux newbies/babies and immature words. If I remember, Mosfet is a relatively young man...He is in his rights to react on flames. Oh - my young people......

Good luck Mosfet, Long live to brillant coders like you. ;-)

 Liquid on MDK 8.1

If you're using mandrake 8.1 you can download the liquid 0.7 rpm for red hat 7.2 and it works fine as long as you do this before installing it "ln $HOME/.kde/share/applnk-mdk $HOME/.kde/share/applnk -s"

Easier then bothering with the source I figure :)

I just installed it a couple days ago for the first time, I'm very impressed.

liquid 0.7 rpms are listed at the bottom of this page:

 Inward looking!

I cannot really believe what I am reading. I am not using KDE and Liquid but reading your comments (all of you) indicates clearly what is wrong with Linux and KDE and all relative. You are so absorbed in self-admiration and so ignorant of the world around that it is pathetic to read your comments. Also (it happens that I am a lawyer) the advice given here is completely wrong! If you think that US law applies in Norway in copyright cases that you outline, your lawyers should pick up some books. Wake up and perceive the world around and the expectations and needs of other people. I do not expect you to change mind of course, but I thought I would contribute this comment just in case somebody was sober enough (from the drug called self-admiration) to see something.

 Agreement...

Well said. Self-absorption leads to self-destruction. That's not the only problem, though. Computers are everywhere, but they occupy an unspeakably small part of existence. It bothers me to see so much cynicism and antagonism surrounding what amounts to a powerful tool. Let me emphasize that: a TOOL. Computers are tools, and Linux is a tool. If all the computers suddenly died, would we die too? I should hope not, because that would mean that we were truly slaves to machines.

As far as people are concerned, everyone is important for some reason. That doesn't mean that one person needs to be the center of controversy because of a personal decision. And if he made the decision out of selfishness (which possibility I neither support nor oppose,) should that affect our success or failure? Psychologists call that codependency. If Mosfet is being a jerk, let him be one. On the other hand, if he just wants some appreciation for his work, let him look for it. Either way, his decisions are his business.

To Mosfet (whom I do not know,) Good luck in whatever you're doing. Keep in mind, though, that you will meet with negativity in some form everywhere- but you can also find positives in people. Accentuate those, and don't worry about the rest.

Of course, like most people here, I won't leave any contact information. If anyone wants to debate philosophy by e-mail, I'll first have to be convinced that we could learn something from what each other has to say.

That "back" hotlink seems to be in need of correction. I clicked on it, and my message was- well, it should be obvious...
