Or rocKs even! ;o)

So is it much better than 3.0 then as I'm considering upgrading my Mandrake 8.2 from 3.0?

Or do you mean KDE 3 is better than 2?

DAViD'SMiND iNC.

I'd say good enough to warrant upgrading from 3.0

 Alert to MDK8.2-ers!

The RPM packages for Mandrake 8.2 are no good. I've seen them mess up lots of stuff. If everything goes alright, there should be new packages this week. In the meantime: compile it yourself. :)

I switching between Red Hat and Mandrake yearly or alternating between machines I have.

After all, think Palm/Handspring and the analogy forms.

But if with both company having their distro packs version synchronized; I likely would go Mandrake.

 KDE 3.0.1 LM 8.2

When are the fixed 3.0.1 packages for Mandrake 8.2 supposed to be out?

Thanks

 KDE3.0.1/MDK 8.2 RPM

Yes, I'd like to know that too as the current ones are supposed to be really crap - everywhere is saying they're totally stuffed.

I tried them myself last night and it seemed to be trying to upgrade 2.2.2 but failing on dependencies.

As I already have KDE 3.0 installed, I'm waiting for the fixed versions that upgrade that in /opt/kde3 rather than /usr/local or whatever it is.

 MDK KDE301 updated!

by PARENA on: May 31 2002

Yes! Go to KDE.org, find the ftp mirrors (the most-updated ones I advice you) and there you have it: the new KDE3.0.1 rpm's for Mandrake which install in /opt again!

Attention: If you have the /usr installation, this is not gonna work. You'll have to get rid of those first then. I upgraded my 3.0.0 packages to these new 3.0.1 and everything's just dandy. :)
