| Question: | Guys i know you are a good designers and your graphics ability is great. i see your desktops in screen shots areas you are really great. but here is my simple Desktop screen shots. i want it to improved very improved. my pc seen by different peoples every day. I cant use Awant manager, docky because my graphics card is very low.
even in system->preferences->appearance i use visual effects in (none:Provide simple desktop environment without any effect).
if i select second option my pc gone held after 1 minute or less. and awn manger require minimum appearance 2nd visual effect option. so
My question is how i make my desktop beautiful. suggest me themes, softwares etc. i asked this question to an forum then i got conky and embeded terminal with background. its look pretty nice.
your suggestion is great work for me. Help me.

| | Answer: | try installing docky :)
Then install ubuntu-tweaks, and under window-manager select "use metacity's compositing feature"
I have got it to work great on a 10+ year-old computer, so this should work for you too :)
