How do I connect to a CalDav calendar through Lightning (Thunderbird)

Question:

I just recently installed ownCloud on one of my servers. Everything seems to be working fine through the web interface.

My problem is that when I try to connect to a calendar through the Lightning extension in Thunderbird, the calendar never loads and always tells me "The calendar is momentarily not available."

I used the link provided to me through the web interface for the CalDav link. Thunderbird never asked me for a password for the calendar, but it doesn't connect.
