Description:

I hate everybody who vote bad only because they are jealous of someones hard work or just voting bad for fun...

someone is hard working several days and then some idiot comes and vote bad?? why? only for fun!!!

vote good if it's good - vote bad if you think it's bad, BUT DON'T VOTE BAD WITH NO REASON!!!

people who upload their creations here are working for free and their only reward is when people give them credits with good vote and good comments

Group goal is to change this site, idea is:
"when someone vote bad he must send msg or comment to autor in which he says why he is voting like that... so autor can improve or fix his creation"

another(maybe better than first)idea is:
"to add sugestion page to every upload and then when someone votes bad he must write his opinion
but there might be authors who dont want this so in page where you edit your upload it should be one checkbox with label "use sugestion page for bad vote""

join if you think same

Yes, anyway I have uploaded a wallpaper just to wish merry christmas to everyone here and also asking to not vote it bad nor good.
So one user had commented it like shit blaming the font used like it was evil and finishing it saying ........therefore I voted it "bah humbug".
LOL

These people are sooo annoying... I don't hate, but highly dislike them. I know lots of people who like saying "LOL that's bad, mine's better", even though their work is badly done and copied from someone.

I never thought I could find anybody more negative than myself!! ;)

Well, more seriously, don't loose hope so soon. Putting things in context, this site is run with a few resources -given its non corporate nature- so please have patience. And don't take so seriously the voting system -agreeing with you thou- but check out the emerging features instead.

The NEWS: fan feature -->
will be very useful for identifying really lovely content as an example.

Have a nice solstice !!

 Bads votes and...

There is not that the votes "bad" that are to criticize.

_There is also those that do the remarks idiots, or that do the critics offending, and when one passed days to do a work, that does rather poorly.

_The due reproaches to the Fact that one update without having done change, this is simply for that the biggest number can take advantage of your work, but that certain one of the evil to understand it.

_And then you will notice leaving to see the profile of those that critical, that this never are them that divides the more, most of the time, it have one or two upload, and often nothing of the all.

_That those that feel aimed get up the finger.

Grieved for my deplorable English.

I have suggested this way before, now let's see.
At least it will stop the bot voting, clever as in discouraging random visitors to click on a button just because it is there. This will work to improve the site to the respect itself and for other ppl work. :)

Well done.

 What I think

 by ardchoille45 on: Oct 16 2009

Score 50%

Here's what I would like to see:

1. A limit on how many "bad" votes any user can make per month - The reason for this is that some people simply vote bad because either they are jealous of the artwork of others or they just don't like to see other people succeed.

2. Usernames of good and bad voters made public - I think this would deter many people from voting bad because everyone can see who they are.

3. Comment required for bad votes - I, like many artists here, feel that every bad vote should be accompanied by a comment so that we can improve our offerings.

I feel that these requirements would go a long way toward improving the Gnome-Look experience for everyone.

Gnome-look admins, are you listening?

(so i guess it would work XD)

Well, a vote on a theme should be based solely on the content of the theme itself, not on what the theme represents. Voting a theme down simply because it represents a company that you don't like is like punishing the artist for no reason in my opinion.

i dont vote them down because they represent apple, mostly because i hate the look of apple stuff, too white, and stuff.
looks bad, imo, and also reminds me of mac.

I do understand your opinion. But you can tell the author:

"Please be creative, there is a universe of possibilities for us and you just stick with mainstream". Or whatever you want to tell him/her.

What's the problem with that?

Having OSX and Windows themes is not bad at all. The problem is, newcomers often want to feel at home (wanting to feel common ground is a natural brain reaction). Though, if there are a lot of middle to bad quality clones.
We all are "stupid and ugly".

I am more concerned at this time, with so many people unable distinguish what is the difference between inspiration and plagiarism.

This site has too many problem

 by ardchoille45 on: Oct 31 2009

Score 50%

This site has too many problems which waste the visitors' time.

1. Captcha required to edit certain data on my own account even though I am logged it. This is a complete waste of my valuable time.

2. Anyone can vote any artwork down without having to divulge who did the voting. This encourages cowardice and multiple account creation by a single ill-intentioned user who likes to vote "bad" simply because they are jealous of other peoples' artwork.

3. The site is so horribly slow on some pages, somewhat slow on some pages and fast on some pages. The variance is frustrating.

1-) Agree
2-) This one requires more thinking. It could be done the other way too...
3-) I can't replicate your results
