Theme Creation App

The idea for this group emerged from my search for a proper theme creation app.

My theme creation app mock-up can be found here:

Everyone is encouraged to join this group and submit ideas. The ideas submitted here will be a collection of ideas that any developer can use in creating this type of app.

Developers will no longer be able to say "there wasn't any demand for this type of app", or "no one gave me any ideas about how they wanted the app to look and work".

Necessity is the mother of invention, so let's show the world that this type of app is necessary and maybe someone will write an app for us.

I made a mockup for a themebuilder a while ago. Posted at KDE brainstorm: http://forum.kde.org/brainstorm.php?mode=idea&i=62401#anchormainbrainstorm

It's mostly kde4, but I'd like to see a plugin interface. So there would be a plugin for metacity, one for kwin,gtk,qt,plasma and so on

Nice Mockup. Yes a theme creation program using plugins would be great but would need plugins for the following:

Emerald
GnoMenu
Gtk
KBFX
MetaCity
Plasma (KDE)

This list needs to be added to of course but the idea is that we can Identify all necessary plugins from the start and maybe developers might take a bit more interest

It isn't about it being free. Rather, its about the freedom it brings.

Very nice mock-up, and I like the plugin capability idea. technoshaun has some great input too.

I hope all of this information eventually makes its way to the gnome project devs.
