Changelog:

ATTENTION BIG CHANGES

The biggest change in this release is how you compile / execute the program. These changes have been made to end a number of bugs attributed to improper installation files used by the application.

So after get the source and unpack ... run in console:

qmake or qmake-qt4 2ManDVD.pro 2ManDVD.pro (on fedora)
make

and finally:

sudo make install

And I stress the make install (as root)

Then you can start the application from your main menu (kde & gnome tested)

 Looks very nice

by Manolete on: Apr 2 2009

Score 50%

I haven't tested it but I'd just make a criticism: the play bottons seems too "Windows-esque"; also, screenshots seem to be from the QT 3 version, right? Can we see some in QT 4?

Oh, and being myself a latin with an decent cultural level, and even if I can't understand almost any spoken French, I can read it, and sometimes better than English. Most of us, simple users, understand that writing software is a source of headaches; so keep writing software in your language and don't bother nor lose that time you generously are spending for free, and patience with accessory issues; someone else will translate, sure.
Isn't FOSS philosophy about freedom, respect, and not accepting imposed "standards"? ;)

Salut.

DVD Authoring is all about "Standards". Video Editing/Encoding/Decoding/Transcoding/Compositing is all about "Standards". If you hate standards then why do you even write here ?

Look, what you "Open-Source" geeks never understood (and thats why Linux is so far behind) is that you must OBEY at least some standards in order to perfom the task of editing, authoring or whatever.

Is that so hard to understand ?

Without a basic set of included standards Linux would not exist anymore.

But i am afraid that you are even unable to admit that.

Anyway, i dont have any more time to argue with stupid people anymore. I better go and author some DVDs with QDVDauthor ...

Herb

I was talking about supposed linguistic "standards" in human communication (English is the "standard" for communication on the planet? A de facto one, no doubt, but a real standard? who has decided such thing? If the criterium for standards is military or economical power then I guess Windows should be the "standard" OS everyone on earth should use, DOC the "standard" for documents, etc).

Regarding to software standards I don't think you will find any more standard-compliant software than the written for Linux or other open source OSes.

And of course if you don't find what you need for authoring your DVDs, go try some private application and even do constructive criticism to this one, but don't be rude to a person who is offering a program done the best he has been able for free, because you "can't stand" his language.

You (and Herbyman) are funny people ... Screenshots are QT3 ... hahahahaha ... Do you use linux ???? I think you are always in MSDOS and that you have never use 2ManDVD ...

I accept that you prefer, Windows, Mac, QDVDAuthor, DVDStyler, Nero, etc ... but if you are so happy why come here to say so stupid things .... I hope one moderator see you message and destroy your account because you have nothing to do here.

Have a nice weekend ...

Stéphane from France

Don't feed this troll, which name begins with H, longer! He isn't worth a word. I'm glad to use 2ManDVD. And I'm happy, if other users will do it, too.
So, I'm curious about new features, you will implement in future!

 Suggestion

This is one of the best examples of software design I have seen in a long time, on ANY platform. This blows me away, along with Smile. Something I could suggest:

To have integration with Smile: you could have a button in the rendering options of smile for "send to 2mandvd" or the like, and it would then encode it and open 2mandvd with the slideshow already in the defalut menu arrangement. This would be an amazing feature, but it's not a problem without it, I'm just suggesting it for integration's sake.

With utmost Gratitude.

vinca.

The program looks really good. The thing is... I am a total noob with the terminal and I don't have a clue how to compile :( (and Yes I have tried compiling it but failed miserably). I use Ubuntu 8.10, so if there are any .deb's for 2ManDVD out there, please let me know!!

Thanks :)
