Tried the all-in-one installer, but when it asked me to type the root password (and yes, I typed it, without CAPS, password correct), but it said that I typed the wrong password?

Hm.. worked fine for me (on FC2 just a few hours ago)

Try first becoming root, and then running the installer. It shouldn't ask for the pass then (I think).

Chalk this up to being a noob however I have no idea what to do with the Apollon all-in-one package. How do you install a ".run" package? I have never encountered this before and can't seem to find direction; any help?

 akropollon -complete

this akrollon or apollon or akropollon what ever should be removed from this site, complete nonsense:
1. i can not uninstall - ask for root password that does not suite
2. downloawds break as soon as you start and then never find them again
3. if you share 21 gig on the Windows drive it will suck your hard drive for 30 mins
4. after installing firewall, it will never connect anywhere
5. GUI sucks, few config parameters
6. do not know where it connects, just tells Connecting forever
7. and so on, endless list

The password problem is known. It works for the most users.

>2. downloawds break as soon as you
>start and then never find them again
what do you mean by "break"?

>3. if you share 21 gig on the Windows >drive it will suck your hard drive >for 30 mins
sharing files requires computing hash sums. This takes a while. giFT is responsible for that, not apollon.

>4. after installing firewall, it will >never connect anywhere
you gotta open some ports. if you claim to be a non-GUI-guy then you should be able to read the config files in ~/.giFT/*/*.conf

>5. GUI sucks, few config parameters
Apollon is one of the few who have such a feature rich settings dialog.

>6. do not know where it connects, >just tells Connecting forever
this is because of not up-to-date nodes-files.

Are you always frustrated like this?
