 problem installing

by xandee on: May 12 2004

Score 50%

I'm a linux newbie and installed Mandrake 10.0 with KDE 3.2. Everything is working fine and most of the stuff I used to use XP for now goes as good in Linux. I'm still very uneasy on installing new software though, but I missed kazaa and other p2p stuff, and lo and behold, apollon apeared.

All the plugins installed fine after making sure the required compilers and libaries were installed, but I cannot install the apllication itself :-(. Code is below

BTW keep up the good work!!

Check the file /etc/ld.so.conf

there should be an entry in there pointing to your X libraries such as:

/usr/X11R6/lib

Make sure it points to the right place and if it's not present, add it (find wherever/X11R6/libs on your system).

Save the file and run 'ldconfig' (you'll need to be root to do these things), then try to run ./configure on apollon again.

Don't know if this will help you out but good luck and welcome to Linux.

Great, easy and useful. Only one very
annoying thing: apollon creates the
folder ~/Desktop/Shared Folder", but my download folder is ~/Download

Help?
btw: i'm using 0.9.2 I think, has this been fixed in the new version?

you can change the folder in the settings-dialog of apollon.
the shared folder was created when you run apollon for the very first time. there was a chance to change it ;)

* main.cpp:39: error: `PREFIX' undeclared (first use this function)
* main.cpp:39: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each
