Description:

Kopete is a multi-protocol instant messenger, supporting Jabber, ICQ, AIM, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, MSN Messenger, and Yahoo! Messenger written for the KDE desktop.

========================================
This is Kopete 0.12.1. It should compile and work with KDE versions 3.3, 3.4, and 3.5. It contains fixes for the ICQ client is too old error.

Installation Instructions
=========================

Make sure you have at least KDE 3.3 and Qt 3.3 before compiling this
release. Please be sure to install this version over the version
you have installed currently. run the command 'kde-config
--prefix' to see what prefix you should pass to configure. Or you
can do something like this:

./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix`

Kopete will probably fail to work correctly if it is not installed in
he correct place. If you need more help please send a mail to
kopete-devel@kde.org or join us on irc in the #kopete channel at
irc.freenode.org. Please keep in mind that you may not get an
immediate response when asking questions.

Can someone explain how I can change the size of the MSN Display Picture in Kopete 0.8 RC2? It's about 1x1cm, a little too small when I don't wear my contact lenses.. ;)

There's a tooltip containing the fullsize image. It's also planned to show the image in place of the nickname in chatview.

Hi Guys

I love kopete but for some reason the fonts that show up on my message window are not the same as the rest of the kde. The font that's showing is comic sans. For the life of me, I cannot figure out where to change this. It is nowhere in KDE.

Please help me out !! Thanks !!
Nitin

 almost no one online

Hello there,
I've been using Kopete for a couple of month and everything worked just fine. But since I upgraded to KDE 3.2 about a week ago, Kopete doesn't show my friends' online status (in fact, it _always_ says offline). But that's incorrect, since some people start chats while Kopete still marks them offline. Only one person's status is dislpayed correctly: the only who uses Kopete as well!
I'm using SuSE 8.2 with KDE 3.2 from SuSE RPMs.

I assume you use the NOL protocol (also known as "never online protocol"). That's the great feature of NOL, nobody is every online to annoy you ;)

SCNR as people always forget to post one important thing:

Which protocol does that happen with ?

 Yahoo problems

by riaanho on: Feb 12 2004

Hi

I have recently installed KDE3.2 (Kopete 8) and MDK9.1 and want to chat to a person on another box with MDK9.1 and KDE3.1.4 with Kopete 7.3.

According to Kopete the other person person is offline even though I know the the person is available.

When you use the Yahoo Web Messenger from the other box, then it works.

Could it be the different versions of Kopete or am I making a stupid mistake somewhere?

Could it be Yahoo?

Any suggestions?

his kopete version is too old. He should upgrade to Kopete 0.8.0 (or 0.8.1, which is in KDE 3.2, but not yet released as a seperate package for KDE 3.1 users)

By any chance is there a way to ignore users color choices so it all formats as black? I don't necessarily grasp the way kopete works (I've migrated from gnome2 and openbox) -- So I've primarily been in a gtk enviroment... is it under the chat tab? And if so: How does one edit that to make it ignore colors?
