Konverter is a GUI for mencoder who isnt using theora.
Look for Katiuska what is using mplayer (not mencoder!) and therefore can handle theora.
Ciao Marco!

 issues

Fedora Core 3 with Mplayer 1. Various other apps have issues with the newer Mplayer as the options have all changed. I've run into the same issue with Konverter. Won't convert or even copy a file without returning an Mencoder error. Are you planning any updates to accomodate the new Mplayer soon? Looks real promising and also, I'm using a BTTV driver for my Hauppauge TV card and the V4l option doesn't work either. All other apps like xdtv, xawtv, gv4l and tvtime all work fine.

If it looks like... smells like... then call it like it is!

Since quickrip's development seems to have ceased, KDE needs a good DVD ripping program!

This is good as it can do more then just rip dvds.

One feature I would like (I don't know if its possible) is the ability to specify the desired size of the output file.

 qt path error

you've hardcoded /usr/share/qt3 as qt path.

in slackware i have to edit the Makefile and change /usr/share/qt3 to /usr/lib/qt so that i can run make afterwards.

thanks anyways.

The KDE binary path is also hardcoded as /usr/bin when it's /opt/kde3/bin on some distros. KDEDIR and QTDIR are usually in the environment on KDE systems. Also, the about dialogue box shows this realease as 0.92beta.

We switched to qmake with this release, so I'll fix that for the next one. Thanks.

 mpeg1 not vcd??

by karlandtanya on: Jun 25 2005

Score 50%

Using konverter-0.7 and selecting MPEG1 format for output, succuessfully convert avi files recorded using my Fuji F700.

k3b-0.12.1 identifies these correctly as vcd-compliant, and I burn a vcd.

vcd plays on my panasonic dvd-rv32.

However, using konverter-0.93 (built under slackware with the notes listed in the above comments), I cannot create a vcd-compliant video file, using the same source.

I have tried using mpeg-1 format and tried all the available audio formats.

no dice: k3b-0.12.1 does not recognize the file as MPEG1 or MPEG2 compliant.

Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong here?

How has the implementation of MPEG1 format changed from 0.7 to 0.93?

Thanks!
