Description:

Smb4K is a SMB/CIFS (Windows) share browser for KDE. It uses the Samba software suite to access the SMB and CIFS shares of the local network neighborhood. Its purpose is to provide a program that's easy to use and has as many features as possible.

* Scanning for (active) workgroups, hosts, and shares
* Support of the CIFS (Linux) and SMBFS (FreeBSD) file system
* Mounting and unmounting of shares (using the KAuth framework)
* Access to the files of a mounted share using a file manager or terminal

* Remounting of previously used shares on program start
* Miscellaneous infos about remote network items and mounted shares

* Preview of the contents of a share
* Several methods to look up the initial list of workgroups and domains

Linux, FreeBSD and NetBSD are supported. Smb4K might also run under different operating systems.

Reading the debug output, I found this:

What operating system is running on Guru? This error should not occur with Windows 2000 and up or Samba. If you've got Windows 98 installed, you might want to consider setting this option to TRUE. However, the smb.conf manual page (http://samba.org/samba/docs/man/manpages-3/smb.conf.5.html) advises against it.

The only Operating system on this Computer "Guru" is Kubuntu 10.04, My Other Computer "Outlaw" Has Kubuntu 10.04 and XP in Virtual Box, Which I never really use unless I'm showing someone how virtual box works. My Girlfriend on the network Has Windows XP Pro.

The Output was from my Kubuntu Machine "Guru". I completely wiped the hard drive before installing Kubuntu both times so I'm not sure why or how it is possible Samba is giving that output.

I Just got done reinstalling Kubuntu on Guru again just to see if I would get the same results and I did and that is what the output was from. Another strange thing is that I used the Same install DVD to install Kubuntu 10.04 one of my friend's laptops' and smb4k is showing the tree with exactly the same software setup as I have on this Dell laptop.

So I'm not sure why I get better results with my friend's laptop than I get with my Dell & Toshiba Laptops?

in the [Global] section of the smb.conf file?
