i think 0.5rc2 is better than rc1, but for now i prefer 0.4.3..
im trying a second change to the new version ;).
Two things, how can i disable playlist?
and how i can configure left and right cursors like in 0.4.3 by default?

regards.

 About playlist

While playlist is nice addition (for e.g. multipart avi's), I think video clips should not be added to playlist by default when viewing them. For example I download clip, watch it and remove it from disk it's currently automatically added to playlist. Next time when I watch different video and it ends the already removed clip is still on the list and I get error message telling me it could not be found when Kaffeine tried to play next clip in playlist.

Would be better in my opinion if user could add clips to playlist if he wishes to do so but they would not be added automatically.

Other than that, rc2 is great :)

 Worse than 0.4.x

Usability has seemingly become worse than in 0.4.x.

- No way to get rid off irritating play-list
- Play list is clumsy
* Seemingly impossible to repeat only single file.
* No way to get rid off play list
- Controls are clumsier

Argh. What have you done to Kaffeine? It's unuseanble at the moment. Every time I click on a movie inside a website it open kaffeine and plays correctly. Then I close Kaffeine. Next time I click on another video in an website, kaffeine opens but plays the old video first. I have to click on the playlist, choose the new video and the get back to the videotab and start the video. This also happens if I delete the old video from the playlist or even delete the whole playlist before closing it.

And then, how do I jump a few second forward or backward with keyboard? I used to be left- and rightarrow, but this doen't work anymore. I haven't found a place to configure this.

What the hell was wrong with the old kaffeine interface. At least it was usable....

I'm very disappointed. I think I have to use mplayer again...

Its a disappointing release it was my favourite media player up until 4.3b
but now the whole player has changed and i can't seem to find the aspect ration settings when playing a dvd

also i use Gentoo and i compiled glibc with nptl and this seems to disrupt kaffeine as it won't start at all
my solution was to download the suse binary

either way i don't like this release very much :(
