Submitted:  Dec 4 2003
Updated:  Mar 10 2005

Description:

The Baghira style was created by thomas12777:
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=8692

Please direct any questions, bug reports or requests to the original author.

This rpm has been built and tested on Mandrake 10.1 with KDE 3.2. Older versions and source rpms are available at sf.net.

Note: To quickly switch between Aqua and Brushed styles, start bab from the KDE menu (System/Other) or from the konsole.

If the download fails with a "Not Found" error, please try a different mirror or try again later as it takes a while for all the sf.net mirrors to get updated.

 It does not work

by peterchahin on: Mar 7 2004

Score 50%

It's a verynice theme. I find it themost beautiful (at least on my old flat screen 1024*768). However it dit not work at all.
I installed it, and it appeared in KDE Control Center, but not where it should and none of the options provided with it under the tag Baghira did not work. I removed it, but I would like to get it work. How?

First you have to enable this theme under KDE Control Center/Style, then you can customize it under Baghira.

 make error

ASP Linux 9.x (based on redhat 9.x)
#./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-final --disable-debug
configure: creating ./config.status
config.status: creating Makefile
config.status: creating colorscheme/Makefile
config.status: creating kcmbaghira/Makefile
config.status: creating po/Makefile
config.status: creating widget-engine/Makefile
config.status: creating config.h
config.status: executing depfiles commands

Good - your configure finished. Start make now

# make
cd . && /bin/sh /home/samba/soft/themes_kde/style/kde/baghira-0.3p/admin/missing --run autoheader
Can't locate object method "path" via package "Autom4te::Request" at /usr/bin/autom4te line 81.
autoheader: /usr/bin/autom4te failed with exit status: 1

So, what is this?
Please help!

 Some problems

This theme's great,
but when I install it not everything work corectly.
I can't add the Aqua gele (oval) blue butons, and change a top bar style of the window (the bar of the top of window with a windows name). How can I do it? Should I need some pictutes (png files) to do it?

You should be able to get the rounded push buttons if that's what you mean, just play with the configuration options for Baghira in the KDE Control Center. For the window decoration try this Mandrake 10 rpm:

 Sliders

Why do some apps (Kwrite for example) draw ALWAYS sliders and some (Konqueror) only when needed ?
Thanks

I'm not sure, but I think it depends on how the different KDE apps have been coded, the theme doesn't control that behaviour as far as I know.

But sliders are drawn only if necessary with others KDE themes?

I don't think so, I've switched to another KDE style (plastik) and kwrite is still drawing the vertical slider. Give it a try, and if you think it's a Baghira bug please send a bug report to Thomas, the Baghira author, he'll fix it :)

I have no control if a scrollbar is draw or not.
what i could do is check, if the scrollbarslider is fullsized (i.i. there's nothing to scroll) and in this case just do not draw any slider.
well, after closer looking at some screenshots, i think, this is what apple does... =)

(meaning: thanks for the notice - and please ask such things on the baghira release, as i usually do not check the binary fores)
