... and much better than soundconverter.

Easy to use and efficient.
The only thing I will complain is the profile editor but it's not a gnac issue.

Keep up the good work!

we were waiting the new version so long, hope for better :) everything is fine, but just 1 question, is there a way to change the extension from [oga] to [ogg], coz my player can't recognize this extension?

Linux is so simple operation system, but you must be a genius to understand its simplicity.

actually i found a way ;)
just open $HOME/.gnac/profiles an there are the files. open the 1 used and changed the extension. i am suggesting to make new profile through gnac and then to edit it by hand. So that can be included in something like wishlist :)

Hi, sorry for the delay for the new version...we really start its development about 2 months ago...

For your question, you can use the Custom Format entry too. Just copy the pipeline from the oga format, and put the ogg extension.

Your solution works, but if you save your profile from the Gnac interface, the extension will be overwritten to oga again.

But thanks, this is a good point, giving the possibility to choose among several extensions can be useful :-)

According to Xiph's website http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/MIME_Types_and_File_Extensions

The use of .ogg for audio and video file is deprecated since 2007. Applications have to use .oga/.ogv instead.

=> You may want to send a bug report to the maintainers of your player ;)

Cheers,
David

1 better decision would be to include the option to create subfolders based on the file tags like soundconverter ;)
Example: if u convert a whole discography of an artist it might be like: /home/USER/Music Library/{converted_artist}/{converted_album}/1 - song.ogg
think about it ;) that's why most people still using sounconverter, what do u think

Yes, sure. We planned to do so in gnac 0.2.1.

Not sure why this decision isn't part of the roadmap anymore. :D

I'm not convinced that's why people are using soundconverter instead of gnac. But that's certainly one of the reason.

The ppa only supports up to 9.10... Might want to include 10.04

Thanks for the suggestion. A package for Lucid Lynx (10.04) is now available.
