Description:

KCometen4 is an OpenGL KDE screensaver. Inside a box is a nifty light show that features lightning and exploding comets. It lets you configure various effects like comet behavior, camera movement, box face images, etc.

Changelog:

Version 1.0.8
* Remove legacy configure script.
* Fix a few compiler warnings and an error that prevented compilation with clang.

 dual screen

Thanks for that nice screensaver. I want to use the screensaver on my dual screen system (2 x 16:10 TFT @ 1680x1050). The Screensaver is only in the middle of 3/4 of the screens width (3/4 of (2x1680px width)). that looks cracy because the rest of the screen (1/4) flashing strange. Is it possible, that this screensaver doesnt support 2 screens or is it a problem of the opengl driver (ATI Card). Thx alot!

Felix

No idea right now. I don't have a dual screen setup, so it may be a few days before I can scrounge up an extra monitor and try it out.

In the meantime, please send me an email to my sourceforge address (in the AUTHORS file) with some basic stats and, if possible, a screenshot. I'd really be interested in the following: KDE version? xinerama or xrandr? 1 video card or 2? problems with other KDE OpenGL screensavers like euphoria?

 RPM for SuSE 11.1 (x86_64)

by henkees on: Feb 15 2009

Score 50%

I made an RPM for openSuSE 11.1 x86_64,
it is working on the Intell systems, probably also on AMD and other systems - but till now I could only test it on the Intell x86_64.

If you are interested, I can send you the RPM and/or the spec-file. If so, post me a message.

love for you too

Thanks for that! I think I'm going to keep packaging related files out of the tarball though, because in my experience they get in the way once various distributions start doing their own stuff.

Would you be interested in getting the package into PackMan?

The last two sections of this page should give you the info you're looking for:

Build RPM for Suse by yourself

by henkees on: Mar 7 2009

Score 50%

Information for howto build the rpm can be found on http://forums.opensuse.org/programming-scripting/407948-rpm-kcometen4-1-0-3-screensaver.html

It is not so difficult as it seems to be.

if you don't want to do it by yourself, drop me an email on henkees@henkees-markus.nl and I will send you the RPM and/or the spec.file.

Remember: only for Suse 11.1, 64 bits!

love for you too
