Description:

Keramikzilla is a theme for Mozilla to make it have the same look as the KDE programs with the Keramik style and the Crystal GT icon set.

Important note: This theme has been made for Mozilla from 1.3 to 1.6. It WON'T work with other versions of Mozilla. Also, it doesn't work with FireFox/Firebird, but the port will come soon, just be patient.

Please report bugs to 'vfernandez at polinux dot upv dot es'.

Thanks to Everaldo for his Crystal GT icon sets. You can get them at:
http://www.everaldo.com

-----------------------
HOW TO INSTALL
-----------------------

If you already have Keramikzilla installed and want to make an update, just remove the previous version of Keramikzilla and install this new one.

· Extract the files anywhere you want
· Open the index.html file in Mozilla (you don't need to be 'root')
· Click the "Install" button
· Accept when it prompts for the theme installation
· Restart Mozilla
· 'View' menu - Apply theme - Keramikzilla Crystal GT
· Restart Mozilla again
· Enjoy!

Optionally, you can also install the patch for small toolbar icons:

· Select the tab "Icon size"
· Click the button "Install patch"
· Restart Mozilla

If you want, you may delete the downloaded files once the theme is installed.

OTHER KERAMIKZILLAS
-----------------------

· Keramikzilla Noia:

Víctor Fernández Martínez "Deejay World"

Changelog:

· Version 0.9.2: Some bug fixes and new menu icons.

· Version 0.9.1: Added a patch to be able to have small icons in the main toolbar of Mozilla.

· Version 0.9: Added support for Enigmail (untested, please report whether it works or not.) Changed the navigator toolbar buttons to look closer to Konqueror. New design for the theme installer. More bug fixes.

· Version 0.8: The tab bar has been implemented in XBL bindings using screenshots from the Konqueror tab bar. This means Keramikzilla is now independent from Geramik! :) Now you may also install it in Windows and Mac OS X and it should look fine. Also, this release has a few bug fixes. The main toolbar buttons in the navigator are smaller now (the icons are the same size but the buttons have less empty space).

· Version 0.7.1: Added support for Mozilla 1.6. Progress meter implemented in XBL so it looks much more closer to Keramik. Some bug fixes.

· Version 0.7: Minor bug fixes, like the filepicker toolbar buttons. A lot of menus now have their respective icons. I've completely reorganized the icons in a directory structure that matches the KDE one, so I'll be able to easily release another versions of Keramikzilla with different icon sets like Noia and Crystal SVG without having to modify any source file (just to copy the icons to the right place).

· Version 0.6: Scrollbars implemented in XBL. Menulist popups improved. I've also changed the checkboxes and radio buttons. The menus have been improved and now have a look much more closer to the Keramik style.

Right now it's not possible to use this theme in Mozilla 1.5. But porting a theme from a version of Mozilla to another isn't hard. It's very soon to start porting the theme because I haven't finished it yet, and there's still a lot of work to do and things to fix. But when I'll finish the theme I'll start making ports for the other versions of Mozilla.

Anyway, if you can't wait, you can port it yourself. Normally the changes between one version of the Mozilla user interface and the other are small, and so the differencies are very little. You can take the Classic theme for Mozilla 1.4 and the one for Mozilla 1.5, unzip them and do a 'diff' on them. Then apply the differencies between one and the other to Keramikzilla and that's all. :)

 Oooh, Firebird?

That looks nice. Any chance of a Firebird port? There is the occaion that I do need to use something other than Konqueror, and it would be nice to have a KDE theme on it.

Porting it to Firebird is hard. I don't think I'm going to do it because it would be a lot of work. First of all I have to release the version 1.0 for Mozilla and then we'll see what to do.

 Give your opinion

What do you think I should pay more attention in?

· Adding/improving features
· Bug fixes
· Porting to other versions of Mozilla
· Making independent from Geramik

Do you like the main Mozilla toolbar or do you think the icons should be smaller as in Konqueror?

Do you think the toolbars shouldn't have the description text under the icons or they should?

Any other ideas or opinions?

WOW! This is wonderful!
However, I think that the toolbars should look like konqueror (small icons) for better integration or like default mozilla theme with text under icons.
I also think that the theme should be ported to Crystal SVG, as GT is dead and SVG will be the new default in KDE.

I think I'll make two versions of this theme: one with the big icons and another with the small icons like in Konqueror, so everybody can choose the one they like more. It's very easy to do, I only have to change a few lines of CSS code, so I'll do it. I also want to make a version with the Noia icon set and depending on its success maybe I'll make versions with other icon sets. The problem with Crystal SVG is that I don't know any way to automatically export a lot of SVGs into PNG files, and Mozilla is unable to directly handle the SVG files. If you know how, please tell me. ;)

Well... since KDE 3.1 doesn't handle SVG icons, Crystal SVG package from Everaldo still ships only png images... so there is no problem!!!

I like the bigger toolbar icons. I know people complain about screen real estate but good old fitts' law says bigger buttons are easier to hit. If you use the keyboard shortcuts, feel free to turn the buttons off entirely ;) Text under icons is cool too.

I'd love to see a firebird version for this. Of course I'd really love a keramik skin for Opera heh

Thanks for this, I have a thing for consistency.
