Description:

Here's a little GTK theme I also whipped together inspired by a wallpaper I made not too long ago.

I like dark themes. On top of that, I like low contrast-esque (with some bold colors for things that need to be highlighted) stuff.

Well, here's my first GTK theme. Phew.

Any tips / hints for future reference would be lovely. :) I want to keep making these, ya know.

Changelog:

Ver 1.0 -- Initial Release

Ver 2.0 -- Fixed font / tooltip related things. It looks a whole lot better now that the tooltips for some music players aren't giant globs of orange. :) Also made some font colors lighter / darker for a tab bit more contrast.

 suggestion focus on usability

Usability is what defines a dark theme. I love them too, but readability and definition of widgets is done badly on 99.99% of them.

This is true.

I can use low contrast themes without any issues, but what may seem easy to read for me may not be easy to read for others.

When I was poking around with this theme, I thought about making it readable, yet not too scarring on the eyes. (Maybe I should change the main font color to white and see if that makes things better / worse.) It works for me, but I do wonder if this works for other people without any problems.

Considering that I stare at a monitor for extended periods of time, usability is something that I'll certainly make note of.

Thank you for the feedback. :)

(There needs to be a karma system on here or something so I can mod ya up!)

 Good

I voted 'Good'. First impression was that it's a nice theme. Second impression was that the fonts are a bit ugly. As I said, I voted 'Good' as I think with a bit of tweaking you could make it even better. Nice work.

Thank ya much.

What is it about the font that needs fixing (if you don't mind explaining)? :P

If anything, I think getting the colors for the fonts was pretty difficult. I honestly didn't know what kind of grey to use. Any input on that would be awesome.

(But if you're talking about the actual font itself... It's one o' dem Artwitz fonts. Lime, actually.)

Thanks for the comments.
