Description:

After two years of hard work, it is now finally time to release the 1.0 version of Crystal SVG

This is probably the biggest update of Crystal, allot of icons have been redesigned, others have been added, special care was given to Koffice and Kopete.

Thanks to:

Connectiva - For financing me in the beginning of this project

Suse - For supporting me and the project in 2003

Lindows - Who has hired me as their staff, and will support Crystal from now on.

LinuxCult - Who thru NullMind hosts my sites and online projects.

And to my Wife .. who has been patient and very forgiving for all the time I spend on the project instead of with her, and to God almihty who makes it all possible.

And last, a special thanks to all the KDE developers who make it the best desktop manager out there !!

Than you for everything

* - Altorught this version is known as "SVG", the icons are still in PNG format, the SVG files will be relased once the support for the format improves in KDE.

Changelog:

This version was discontinued, To get Updates please find by Crystal Project.

 nice

I really like the new package_ icons. And the blue arrow buttons in konqueror are much better than the green ones, though I prefer the old reload & home buttons. But I'll definetely use the new igloo icon as .directory in my home dir. I only wish the mimetypes and devices looked more like 0.9, oh well..

Btw, will SVG final also include PNG icons? The 16x16 folders are much better off being flat, like you made them in this preview, than looking like the bigger sizes (which I guess it will since SVG is only one iconfile?)
Keep up the good work, and don't forget to include the purple folder as well!

Can you add the new konqueror tab icons?

The ones in this are terrible :-(

The rest...just amazing! LOVE them

 UNDO Icon!

Hi Everaldo,

the "undo" icon from Crystal SVG and Crystal GT is really strange:

At every icontheme but crystal, the Undo-Icon shows a counter clockwise arrow, while the Redo-Icon shows a clockwise arrow.

Your iconsets show for both actions a clockwise arrow. That's really bad interface design!

What about just mirroring the redu icon to get a better undo icon?

There exists even a KDE-bugreport:

I second that. Actually I commented on this up when they *first* appeared in old crystal!

On other note, I am hoping that this wonderful theme is default for KDE 3.2. Is it?

 forward arrow?

For me, the back arrow is blue, but the forward arrow is green. This seems kinda strange, and the screenshots don't seem to exhibit this. Does this happen for anyone else?

In the screenshot the icons are grayed out. everaldo just opend the window and took the screenshot, he didnt go anywhere, thus the icons did not turn blue. But to answer your question, yes, I have the same problem.

I don't know, it seems like a legitimate usability decision to me. With some of the older Crystal icon sets, where Up, Back, Forward, Home, and Reload basically had the same colours and shape (with tiny white squiggles as the one factor that set them apart), it took more effort to ensure that I am, in fact, clicking on the right button.

I also recall some grumbling about how the Home icon on the toolbar didn't look much like the Home icon used by the home folder.

The new Crystal SVG solves both problems elegantly (while cramming a greater variety of eye candy into a promonently visible location ;) ), IMHO.

 Maybe I don't get it

but _where_ are the svg icons? It's supposed to be SVG, isn't it? All I get are png icons (maybe converted from their corresponding svg icons). When it says Crytal _SVG_ I expect the icons to be in svg format, or am I completely wrong?

Great icons! Gorgeous! really...

please take a look at the "file_locked.png" icon... It says "loked" on it... should be "locked" I guess..

Well, this is really fraud, although the icons look stunning, this is *NOT* SVG, it's like saying MS Windows is secure, not nice :)
