Description:

Of the existing plasmoids I think the analog clock is realy useful. With the new framework for Kontact, I'd like to have a plasmoid that combines the analog clock with the day's schedule.
The Image should give you the general idea.
The information shown by the plasmoid could depend on it's size. If it's small only the colored bars are displayed. As it's scaled up more information like Time, Title can popup. There could even be icons in each event for the other event-fields like location, participants, mail etc. mouseover on these icons could popup a box with those informations...

Perhaps it would be possible to use the analog clock of each currently used theme as a background...

 Cool idea

Like your idea very much. Perhaps outer ring could be used as large circular, linear clock. Hard to explain, but as time passed the outer ring would change color in conjunction with the time. So, starting at 12:00, by 1:00 the 12:00 to 1:00 section would be a different color from rest of outer ring, by 2:00 the 12:00 to 2:00 section, and so on. In your example, the color change would be around from 12:00 to the 7:45 spot when your first meeting is to start. That way a quick glance at outer circle and inner circles would show relationship of current time and when meeting starts. Hope explanation makes sense. PS If you want, instead of going from 12:00 to current time, this outer circle could be faded so it is only, say, 4 hours long. So, at 7:45 it would go from 7:45 back to 3:45 where it fades out.

it's the very first time i'm getting really impressed with KDE4 Plasma - thank you on helping us Gnome users showing KDE4 is not so bad as QT developers are showing us... all inovative ideas are welcome!

That's a really nice idea. And since there is nobody realizing this plasmoid and I really would like to have such a plasmoid I'd like to do it :)

With the drawing library delivered with Krog's link and the analog clock plasmoid it should be possible...

I will consider all the contributed ideas during development.

Thats great, i cant help with code but maybe with a simple idea. I think it would be nice if the next event after the current on would change gradually to a more visible on while the hour gets near, and maybe it could start to glow periodically when the time gets very close (and maybe you could configure how near). Just an idea

I meant that the color could change gradually. Sorry!
