Description:

Just hoped this might stimulate a bit of interest in the production of an all round good looking linux app. which could handle videos and a music library. I don't know if it's just me but linux really does seem to be lacking a decent looking media player; i'm not suggesting this is the solution, but i'm sure someone out there can improve on this and us users can start using a good application.

I guess this project follows directly on from my Desktop Mockup, so please check that out too and as always criticism is much appreciated.

 Where is it?

This might be a stupid question but I need to know. Is this real? If so, for what app and where do I find it? Everywhere I look that has it, I just get the pic. I would like to use it. I like it. It looks clean and I want it.
Please let me know.

You should check out Miro and Vuze. They are both on linux, i think they are both opensource, though I am not too sure.

Miro is a super capable music/movie/internet viewer/player and Vuze is a mix of Miro w/ bittorent capabilities as well (from the Azurues project).

This is probably possible as a feather under Songbird. Maybe I'll try making it once i learn a little bit about Songbird layout modification.

Great idea. Seeing as how there are no minimiz/maximize/close buttons on the media player, I would assume those would be controlled through the notification area/panel. I really hope this actually gets made.
