Description:

Heres a snapshot of Slick 1.5. The version in kdeartwork will be more up to date generally though.

 K Menu icon not used

I recently tried out KDE 3.0 compiled from sources on Solaris (don't know the version) in school. But when I apply the Slick Icon theme, the icon for the K Menu is not changed. All the other icons are updated, but not that one. I noticed that the user spanky seems to experience the same problem, looking at the http://www.kde-look.org/content/preview.php?file=1287-1.png
screenshot. When I use the RMB menu on Kicker and select Add-Special Button, the icon for K Menu is correct in the RMB menu, but if I actually add a K Menu button, it has the default icon. If I use the iKons theme, it's the same thing there. Other icons are correct, but the K Menu one is wrong. It MIGHT be that the people who compiled KDE here has made some mistake during the compilation. They've seemed to do that before, and this new version also doesn't show PNG files correctly, all the colors are screwed up. Does anyone have an idea of what to do about the icon problem (or the PNG problem for that matter)?

I just downloaded the theme and installed it on my own computer (KDE 2.2.1) and it worked just fine. All the icons updated, including the K Menu one. Perhaps it's just a compilation error in the KDE in school then?

I have the same problem! :\

Its a KDE 3 problem. 2 isnt effected (not with kicker anyway). I also compile from source, but I cant see what we could be doing wrong.

So far I can offer a very half assed solution, which is to run the slick install script (in the slick directory) as, 'install.sh overwrite'

NOTE: this WILL OVERWRITE most of the default hicolor theme, its not a very nice solution at all. but it fixes kicker and a number of other apps which wont theme (partially kate, kcm applets run from outside kcontrol, konqueror when embedding sometimes.)

Now this theme is even better than ever! Those fixes were the frosting on the cake. Now I can't imagine what else you can improve. Maybe animated Icons lol. That would take forever but anyway if you find anything cool than do it and release it as 2.0 ;) Great Work!

I love this icon theme.

I am such a sucker for green on black (i loved my green on black terminal) and these icons fit great with an all black background, which I tend to end up with.

I just installed the new version of Slick Icons (1.4). No offense, but some of the new default icons are identical to either Crystal (i.e. the folders) or Crystal-Classic (i.e. the Kicker Icon). What happened to the old, unique Slick Icon set ?
