Description:

A dark (black & white) theme for gnome desktop.
Thanks to Gnome Fanatic for the name!

I just recieved mail being told this
theme is the default in PCLOS Gnome 2008 !

More info and download here: http://linuxgator.org/

suggestions very welcome!

PLS! tell me what you think!

!!!!IMPORTANT!!!!!

To install:
1.Download the file to your desktop
2.Right click the file and select extract here, then another archive pops up,do
the same for that.
3.open a terminal and run these commands:

first
sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/SlicknesS /usr/share/themes

second (this one fixes firefox, don't need this for ff3, only 2 This fix is made by user twrock, so if he wants me to delete it i will)
cp /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS/userChrome.css $HOME/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/chrome

4.Open the theme manager, you can now
see the SlicknesS theme as a theme,
when you click on it , it suggests
taners amazing wallpaper he made for this theme!!
click apply to apply the wallpaper!

the icon theme it suggests is this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

any problems with the install let me know!!!!

One REALLY HUGE thank you to artist Taner
for his fantastic wallpaper!

Changelog:

2.2.2 probably the last update, this should
fix the message of an engine "" not installed
I can't try it myself if it works (since I don't have
gnome installed) so if anyone would be kind
to let me know if it works, it would be kind :)
This will probably be my last fix as I'm not on
gnome anymore.

2.2.1 Fixed my previous F**kup. (at least I hope so)
(it's been tested on ubunut 7.10). If anyone still
has any kind of problem please be so kind and let me
know!

To read full changelog read changelog.txt in
the SlicknesS folder.

This theme looks great.

I just installed Linux for the first time and this theme looked great.

Could you tell me how you changed the menu icon in the bottom panel though? I have ubuntu and I cannot figure out how to change that icon or where the icon is stored so I could rename it.

Right mouse click to the panel where you want the button.

In the screen what pops up search for "Main Menu", this one is located near by the bottom of the screen.

Then click add, your main menu will be added to the chosen menu bar.

Thanks guys!!!

I am really very happy you like my theme!!!

The bar on the right is a program called conky
It shows system information, you can get it here:
http://conky.sourceforge.net/

As for the menu button (the one with the foot on)
do what sjaakmans said and then open gconf-editor
(press alt+f2 and type gconf-editor and press enter)
then in the gconf-editor click on apps
and navigate to panel and then objects
and then look for a object with type
menu-object and click the "use custom icon"
box, and then put this in the line where it
says custom icon:
/home/USERNAME/.themes/SlicknesS/gtk-2.0/panel/panel-button-menu.png
(replace username with your username)
and the new menuicon should appear :)

Thanks again!!

//Robert

Thank you!!

I'm very sorry but I don't understand what
you mean, since the toolbar has black font
on white/grey background...

maybe you could send me a screenshot so
I would know what to correct :)
