Description:

A dark (black & white) theme for gnome desktop.
Thanks to Gnome Fanatic for the name!

I just recieved mail being told this
theme is the default in PCLOS Gnome 2008 !

More info and download here: http://linuxgator.org/

suggestions very welcome!

PLS! tell me what you think!

!!!!IMPORTANT!!!!!

To install:
1.Download the file to your desktop
2.Right click the file and select extract here, then another archive pops up,do
the same for that.
3.open a terminal and run these commands:

first
sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/SlicknesS /usr/share/themes

second (this one fixes firefox, don't need this for ff3, only 2 This fix is made by user twrock, so if he wants me to delete it i will)
cp /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS/userChrome.css $HOME/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/chrome

4.Open the theme manager, you can now
see the SlicknesS theme as a theme,
when you click on it , it suggests
taners amazing wallpaper he made for this theme!!
click apply to apply the wallpaper!

the icon theme it suggests is this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

any problems with the install let me know!!!!

One REALLY HUGE thank you to artist Taner
for his fantastic wallpaper!

Changelog:

2.2.2 probably the last update, this should
fix the message of an engine "" not installed
I can't try it myself if it works (since I don't have
gnome installed) so if anyone would be kind
to let me know if it works, it would be kind :)
This will probably be my last fix as I'm not on
gnome anymore.

2.2.1 Fixed my previous F**kup. (at least I hope so)
(it's been tested on ubunut 7.10). If anyone still
has any kind of problem please be so kind and let me
know!

To read full changelog read changelog.txt in
the SlicknesS folder.

 Buttons

New buttons look great, but close button now is grey, instead of the red glow which had in previous versions ;) I liked that glow.

Thanks for the feedback on the buttons!!

Yes I will make the close button have a red glow effect
and I will make them more "polished" when I have the time (wont be home for a few days)

I'm very glad you like them :D

I'm not a big fan of dark themes, this one really caught me, I'm using it, but with a bug, i have a weather addon on firefox menubar, the text is black, is there a way i can fix it?

Hmm, I will try to find out a way to fix that, but I don't use firefox myself
and I think it's a problem with firefox and not with the theme :)

anyway, I will try to fix it someway :)

Hi,

Well since I've become a fan of this slickness, I'd like to suggest a Golden-Black theme on the same.

To go with this wallpaper => http://www.imgx.org/public/view/full/4172

I would gladly like to help in any way possible.

Thanks again man!

I think thats a great idea!
(haven't seen too many golden themes here)

I will start working on a golden version as soon as I have the time!

Good work, yet again, TheRob. :)

Something I noticed: Some of the menus appear compacted, i.e., the spacing between menu items are smaller in some of the menus (Places and the System->Administration, for example), although the font-size seems normal. I don't mind either size, but I would prefer one uniform spacing.

Thank you for a very splendid present!
I am satisfied very much, but I am sorry that a Gnome mark of Nautilus is not displayed.

Thank you!!

Really glad you like my theme!

I don't understand what you mean with the
gnome mark of nautilus, I thought at first you meant the throbber (which shows action when browser loads) but it shows perfectly for me...

Maybe you could post a screenshot :)

Hmmm, that really is strange indeed,
however I don't think it's a problem with the
theme, since it's working fine for me
Maybe with the iconset... I don't know,
try this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white?content=70299

if that solves the problem then it's probably
the icons :)

...Let me know!
