Description:

A dark (black & white) theme for gnome desktop.
Thanks to Gnome Fanatic for the name!

I just recieved mail being told this
theme is the default in PCLOS Gnome 2008 !

More info and download here: http://linuxgator.org/

suggestions very welcome!

PLS! tell me what you think!

!!!!IMPORTANT!!!!!

To install:
1.Download the file to your desktop
2.Right click the file and select extract here, then another archive pops up,do
the same for that.
3.open a terminal and run these commands:

first
sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/SlicknesS /usr/share/themes

second (this one fixes firefox, don't need this for ff3, only 2 This fix is made by user twrock, so if he wants me to delete it i will)
cp /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS/userChrome.css $HOME/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/chrome

4.Open the theme manager, you can now
see the SlicknesS theme as a theme,
when you click on it , it suggests
taners amazing wallpaper he made for this theme!!
click apply to apply the wallpaper!

the icon theme it suggests is this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

any problems with the install let me know!!!!

One REALLY HUGE thank you to artist Taner
for his fantastic wallpaper!

Changelog:

2.2.2 probably the last update, this should
fix the message of an engine "" not installed
I can't try it myself if it works (since I don't have
gnome installed) so if anyone would be kind
to let me know if it works, it would be kind :)
This will probably be my last fix as I'm not on
gnome anymore.

2.2.1 Fixed my previous F**kup. (at least I hope so)
(it's been tested on ubunut 7.10). If anyone still
has any kind of problem please be so kind and let me
know!

To read full changelog read changelog.txt in
the SlicknesS folder.

 Bug in the Theme

same bug as the rest of black themes:

This is the window when i take: System/turn off

http://pici.se/pictures/PzYojRbYJ.jpg

-
probably ubuntu users dont see this bug. Im using foresight with Gnome.

Ubuntu got custom dialog, Foresight is using the original dialog from Gnome

when choosing controller "SlicknesS" for setting up a custom "theme" it gets like that.

the print screen is for another theme, but same error for this theme

the only black theme ive seen that it shows as it should is this one:
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Divinorum+Cyan+%26+Magenta?content=71798

many other black themes got same problem as your theme got. But i think they use the same "ground" to start with so they get the bug from start.

in the file panel.rc
i removed this from the file:
class "*Panel*" style "panelbg"

Then the window for system/turn off looks better.

thanks!

that messed up the panel for me in a weird way, but I figured out a way to get it to work without using the panelbg ( the panel backround pixmap) , anyway, thanks for your help!

I couldn't have figured it out without you!

I uploaded the new version with my changes, please let me know if they work for you. :)

I couldn't reply the the comment below this one, but this concerns the screenshot you posted anyway.

I've seen something very similar on Ubuntu while using the launcher edit dialog of Alacarte menu editor. Just in case somebody is debugging on Ubuntu and can't see the problem.

yes that bug is fixed now (it will just draw the panel background again if you resize it more than 32px)... I can make a version with a bigger panel if you want me to :)

It looks the same as the picture i added before with your fix in it.

So in this way i can use updates without edit the panel.rc all the time :)

Nicely done.

yup!

I just modified your little fix a little , you probably didn't notice but there was a white line over the panel when I applied your fix, probably because you use smaller panel than me(probably only shows with 32px panel).

I will try to fix the button problem too but I have no clue how without breaking something else :)

If you figure it out pls let me know :D

only one problem i find, and that the volume icon on the panel, regardless the icon theme, the background on the volume icon is kinda white, u had it right before the update.

I use a window manager called "compiz fusion" to draw the screen so I get transparent panels , menues and windows if I want, but that tweaking program probably works just as good :)

Thanks!
