Description:

I found this on a link in dot.kde.org. Is this the real thing? If it is, it's the most amazing skin ever. Can someone make a gtk or qt theme from this? more at http://www.nuno-icons.com/images/estilo/

it's incredible, no?

It is indeed awesome, but they are mockups, we'll have to see how kde4 really looks like.

Give a lot of credit to this.

1. The style is shaping like this already but it's under hard development and has been redone recently but in the whole it looks like that. The work seen until now match that style and window decoration.

2. green make the style superb but I have no info if it has been included already. The animations will be in gold. Precious: they have been shown in KDE-commit digest.

3.I don't think the panel will be remake so radically. It looks like a Nookie mockup (http://nookie.kbfx.org/) but I would'nt bet it will be the final design. It makes no sense having the kicker in the middle of the window. Anyway, being the panel configurable even now (3.5.7) you can arrange it like this: I suppose the same would apply to every plasma 'object' and that the default would not be this arrange but another more traditional.

4. The 1º mockup shows a panel: it is already under development but I don't think it will fit in the whole like that but integrated into a menu similar to Kbfx.

5. Transparencies are seen already in plasmoids so it look like probable to see them somewhere else.

6. Option 1 is the most probable candidate (I think)

where have you found it??

*Disclaimer: I'm not part of KDE team. I just read blogs and commits.

None by the moment

He got those from the web page of the leader of the oxygen theme team.

So that's the aimed look of KDE 4 :)

But, as you, I'm not sure it that plasmoid will be the kicker replacement.

i think the black on top of cool wallpapers and beautiful colors like that makes this very pretty and well looking, plus plasma stuff ;)

kimmik, i didn't post this as my work. i mean, if we're not allowed to share stuff, then just talking about kde4 would be "posting someone else's work". thats not linux philosophy.
and bandua, where did you say you saw those animations? sounds exciting. all these pics i found at http://www.nuno-icons.com/images/estilo/
so yeah, thanks estilo or whoever :)

I can't remember exactly but take a look at http://commit-digest.org/ and you will find news about the new menu Raptor (has a wiki in kde.org). One of the members of the team, Siraj, posts things in his blog as well. There he says too he is in a project to 'merge' 'ideas' from kickoff(the superb opensuse menu), kbfx and kicker (the actual menu) so I reinforce what we are seeing is part of a bigger thing.

I cannot wait too, lol.

It looks absolutely gorgeous, I certainly hope the final product looks similar to this. I've been using Linux for a little over a year now, and I still find it astonishing as to the quality and scope of open-source software, and KDE4 will certainly raise the bar in many ways!
