Description:

It’s a pleasure to say that, after long months waiting, the new version of the Crystal icon set is available for the public.
The Icons were already finalized about six months ago. In fact, it was necessary to bend the time, almost like the mythological battle between Zeus and Kronos, so then I could finally finish the the website redesign and launch the new set of icons.
Uncountable hours of work and some nights without sleeping were dedicated to this project. I hope you guys enjoy the final result.

It’s always a pleasure to serve you ;-)

ps. the theme style is just a Mockup.

Changelog:

I'll update Crystal Project for KD4 as soon it's possible.
Unfortunatelly I have a lot of things to do and not a lot of time (work, study, etc). So, please be patient.

I'm also working in a new theme that will be called Matte.

Keep in touch. ;-)

 Installation in KDE 4?

by Neremor on: May 11 2009

Score 50%

Hello!

I've spent the last few hours trying to install this icon theme in KDE 4.2.3. I was able to install the .tar.gz-file via the systemsettings, but the icons on my PC are completly messed up afterwards. In my home-folder, only two of my at least 20 folders use the new icon (don't ask me why this two folders, they are exactly like the others)... The action icons like forward, backward, undo, etc do all have a very curious icon that doesn't fit to any of this actions (a few cubes aligned to something that looks like a "L")...

Could anyone tell me whether it's possible to install and use this icon theme in KDE 4.2 or not? If it's possible, could you tell me what I have to do to install it?

Thanks in advance!
Jonathan

first mv filesystems folder to places

and change all filesystems in index.theme into places.

cp places/folder.png to mimetypes/inode-directory.png

change places/folder_* to places/folder-*

link or cp folder-home to user-home

it will look better. There are still many changes needed, but this will just make all seems good.

I'm not understanding the installation instructions? Can you explain more? What lines do I need to edit in the theme file or in the crystal project folder under .icons?

Thanks!

because kde 4.2.3 has different icon names with this theme,so we must correct the file name of the themes.

you can open the /usr/share/icons/oxygen and compare it with crystal and manual change the icon name.

Well, that script fixed the folders okay. But the arrows are still broken. And those are a little more important.

Can you tell me a way to get my arrows working with this theme?

Multichallen ge

as you can see on this adress http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/KDE4_Porting_Guide

"Porting your app from the icon names used in KDE3 to the ones used in KDE4 is as easy as running the adapt-to-icon-spec.py script from the root directory of your project and follow the instructions on screen." link is on the site right there, happy porting! :p

hi and thanks for te work. Thank's also for the script, it works for folder icon for instance but it doesn't work for all icons. "preview, next, small folder icons..; a lot are still weird or not appropriated :/)
If you update the packege or make one with the good name, please keep us updated.. it takes too long to change manually every name..

A new version for kde4 would be nice.
And: i think that the arrows for expanding and shrinking are mixed up. eg: if i point to the right bottom corner of a window, the arrow should be from left up to right down, but its from right up to left down.
