Note: iKons 0.6 is going to be included in KDE 3.0. The deadline for artwork is 2.3.2002 (Saturday) at 13:00 UT ... so if you have any wishes left for iKons 0.6: this is your last chance to get them in iKons 0.6 for KDE 3.

 Need more 64x64

by anonymous on: Jan 30 2002

Someone already mentioned it but I think it'd be really nice if you'd add 64x64 icons for devices as well as folders. Any chance of this happening soon?

I'm working on new 16x16 and 64x64 icons for folders and devices. These icons will be ready by iKons 0.6.

 Where are is qnix?

Hi,

I have been using iKons for quite some time now,
but i never really liked the arrow-action-ikons,
which now vome as a default. in version 0.5 rc1
there was the possibility to change the style of
these icons as described in the README. for version
0.5.8, README did not change, but the scripot doesnt
work no more :(
why did you remove the other arrow layouts?
is there a chance they will be back sometime soon?

please, i really want to have them back in an official release.

thanks in advance

 arrow icons

I'm looking at the possibility to create an icon theme per category of icons (devices, mime-types, folders, applications, actions, etc.). By doing this, users will be able to select a different icon theme for each category, e.g. iKons folders together with default devices. It would also be possible to create multiple action icon themes, e.g.: a qnix action icon theme, a Mozilla action icon theme or a iKons action theme.
I think this should solve your problem.

I left out qnix and netscape icons to save some disk space. But I'm looking for the possibility to release several iKons themes, e.g. iKons_qnix and iKons_Mozilla.
But first, I need to get iKons ready for KDE3final.

 Praise and Requests

First of all : This is excellent! I haven't used any other icon-set for a very long time. I do have a couple of requests though.
The KMail icon doesn't look all that good on the kicker with the others in 'normal' size.(32x32?). This is mainly due to the icon being vertically shorter than the others. The Air-mail envelope edges also look less terrific in 32x32. I'd also like to see more folder-icons scale down properly when looked at in tree-view. Some of them, like the grey folder, have no iKons image in the smaller size.
