Description:

iKons is a hi-color icon theme for both KDE2 and KDE3.
It contains 16x16 icons, 22x22 icons, 32x32 icons, 48x48 icons and 64x64 icons for KDE, a KDE icon theme that can be used with the Control Center, as well as a README file that tells you how to install and alter this icon theme. This release also features some icons in development.

Note: iKons 0.6 is going to be included in KDE 3.0. The deadline for artwork is 2.3.2002 (Saturday) at 13:00 UT ... so if you have any wishes left for iKons 0.6: this is your last chance to get them in iKons 0.6 for KDE 3.

Great work! I'm definately looking forward to the 1.0 release.

One little comment: I like having my themes installed in /usr/share/icons so everybody can use them. It would be nice if permissions were set right on the package so icons aren't executable, things aren't world writable, all things are world readable, etc.

Why are there now two versions of this theme? Surely the icons are not that different for each version. Or is it just that some are not included in the pro version?

But I've been using these icons since they were first release and think that they're just getting better.

Unless I'm mistaken, the only difference between the two packages is the icon for the "Run Command" icon. Some people didn't like the little rocketship as they felt it was "un-professional". The Pro version uses a different icon for the "Run Command" icon, but teh home version has teh rocket.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I like this set. All the icons but the terminal like ones (kcontrol, terminal, ...) they are really ugly dark... the others are wonderful light and easy to understand. These terminal-like types seems to be very equal.. Mhh i don't like them. Please rework them. Thanks - but really good work yet!

I'm redoing the device icons (16x16, 32x32 and 48x48). My aim is to release new device icons with iKons 0.6. When I'm redoing the device icon, I'll also redo some other icons like e.g. the Konsole/Kdesktop/Kcontrol icons.

there are some icons which don't show in KDE 2.2.2 (SuSE 7.3) The files: -- /22x22/actions/alarmd.png -- and /22x22/actions/back.png forward.png up.png --------------- If I copy alarmd.png to /opt/kde2/share/apps/korganizer/icons/hicolor/22x22/actions/
and the alarmdaemon was showed in the panel . ----------- Also if you open a new window (new instance) of you konqueror (clicking an url which opens a konq-window) then this konq-window misses the iKons "actions" icons and falls back on the KDE2 default ones. ----- I don't know if Kristof is aware of this and if more people are having this "problem" ... ---- grtz - Fab (iKons-fan)

I know there are problems with previous versions of iKons (iKons disappeared after a few moments) ... but this should be fixed in iKons 0.5.1 and 0.5.2.

How did you fix this problem?

My icon theme 'slick' suffers from this aswell, however not when opening konqueror, but when using embedded components like the text and pdf viewer.

Great icon set btw :)
