Points to a php showing some release notes rather than to the tarball.

Still a problem with 4.01.

This is a problem either with their html or certain browsers. Cursor over the program tar.gz filename shows the shownotes link except all the way at the bottom of this line of text. Then I can get it.

All the other filenames (the translations) work properly.

I do think you have a point, but let me add some words around this:
I do some programming in python, no need for much profiling, or lookup of API stuff or other nifty things. I do like to have code cleaning though, refactoring and all the nice and easy stuff Eclipse brings.

Eric on the one hand seems to have more options than any other IDE for Python.

But... On the other hand for a beginner or for somebody like me who only needs the basic stuff the GUI is way to overloaded and freaks you out once you installed the app. At least it did freak out me when I tried to use it.

I believe that GUI programming needs much more than simple software design. Actually ppl come up and do tests here, do tests there to finaly find out what users really want. It is rather a complex task to design the interface in a way the majority can approve of.

Cheers

sudo apt-get build-dep eric

or

sudo apt-get install libqscintill2-dev

I build eric locally and also for the Ubuntu repos, so it can be done.

eric4 is very nice, but i really miss a real file browser. eric4 can not create/move/copy/delete/refresh files and directories.

would be nice if anyone knows a workaround for this ...
