Hi, I didn't want to change the icon for this release, but I will change it for the next one (I've been working on an icon, but I'm not very good with gfx).

 Multiple accounts?

Hi!

How difficult would it be for KCheckGmail to check for mail in several accounts instead of just one?

This has already been requested, but at the moment it isn't possible and it is very likely to cause problems when opening konqueror. I will try to work something for the next release.

For next version I will try to use an other authenthication method which would make everything easier (including the possibility of checking multiple accounts and restore support for hosted domains).

 hosted accounts

hi,
I love that notifier!
However, for google hosted accounts the webbrowser opens the wrong url.

For email addresses which do not end with gmail.com or mail.google.com or....
the correct url would be

http://mail.google.com/a/domainname

I simply patched kgmailnotifier.py:260
but would be nice if there was some gui or something where you tell the thing that the email address is a hosted one.
A simple check box would do it. You would then just have to get the hostname from the email address and build the correct browserProc argument.

Thanks for this cool notifier! I Love it!

Hi, are you sure you are talking about KCheckGMail and not kgmailnotifier?
KCheckGMail correctly opens the inbox of the hosted domain, and there's no such kgmailnotifier.py file (because it is written in C++ and not in Python).

 fetaure requests

by mkoebele on: May 11 2007

beside the one to tell it that the mail account is a hosted one I would like to propose

1) feature "don't show popup"
2) write the number of new messages on top of the icon, like kmail, akgregator

that would be awesome :)

Hello,

To disable the popup: http://kcheckgmail.sourceforge.net/help.html#ModifyNotifications

About the second request I'm afraid it isn't currently possible; because I have no plans of stop using knotify, but I'll see what new features KDE4 will bring to knotify.

I'm using KCheckGMail on Kubuntu 7.04 with polish language setting. It seems to me that KCheckGMail has problems with polish chars, because they're not displayed correctly. Can You please check it? (All the rest of my system displays polish characters properly.)

What version are you using?
The problem with the polish translation was fixed before releasing 0.5.6.
By the way, the Polish translation is now fully updated for 0.5.6 and available here: http://kcheckgmail.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/kcheckgmail/kcheckgmail/po/pl.po?revision=1.6

Oh, I guess that I'll just have to wait for ubuntu to upgrade the version to 0.5.6 (right now it is 0.5.5).

It seems like they already grabbed it from Debian. Gutsy has 0.5.6
