All shots have a number in the tarball.

1. First we copy (or cut) a folder.
2. Copy a file (or whatever)
3 When we want to paste, can we select one of them?

(i show this on gnome, but kde4 can do that too)

I know it's not quite the same, but Klipper let's you choose which one of the last several copies to be pasted - works with files and folders too. And since Klipper can be set as an applet (= always available) I don't see the point in cluttering the service-menu more than necessary.

Would be nice as an extra-app, though!

this would be an excellent feature that klipper should implement. It is a lot more user friendly that selecting what should be pasted in an applet.

This is a great idea. Klipper is nice, but tying it into the file browser would be even better.
