Description:

t was april 2002 when I first started designing a little 48x48 icon and published it at kde-look.org.
It was an alternative “trashcan" for KDE 2. Since then I’ve continued designing icons and started many themes to increase my skills and improve design quality, these were: "Desktop icons", "Sky", "Lush" and finally "Nuvola".

It tooks me more than a year to reach version 1, the more professional, consistent and complete Nuvola theme ever released, it will turn your KDE in an eyecandy colourful desktop.

If you never tryed Nuvola what are you waiting? give it a try! For the others waiting this release since a long time… download Nuvola 1.0 now!

Have fun and enjoy your desktop!
David Vignoni

 Technically perfect

But I've compared them to Crystal SVG and in my humble opinion the devices look very similar. They are too close to make an own, individual icon set.

Just my personal opinion, when in doubt, ignore me. :-)

Yes, there are definitely some similarities with Crystal, but this set can definitely stand on its own - especially once finished. Wonderful start you have! :)

Looks really good. A little off context this question, but is there any quick howto's for beginners around. How do you do things like this?! I'm really impressed.

5 yrs ago I buyed a book about Photoshop4 and studied it all. I learn a lot of thing with this book, then I started reading graphics magazines and searching tutorials on the web. Once you know how to use a pixelbased program like photoshop than you can understand quickly others program like Gimp.
When I started SKY icons I usually open icons from Jimmac (Gnome) with Gimp, zooming and trying to understand how to do the same things.

Now, I started this set without any skill of SVG icons, so I read something about Illustrator on the web and studied the wonderful icons from Everaldo, and then I applied what I was learning to reproduce the look&fell of SKY icons and maybe doing a better work.
I've done also something with Sodipodi, but for now I'm working faster with Illustrator.

Complimenti anche da parte mia! Una volta che avrai levato le rimanenze di Crystal sara' davvero un ottimo icon-set!

They look great!
A complete icon set would be great!

What about attending to the KOffice icon contest?

 Crystal Icons???

These icons look so much like Everaldo's theme, that is hard to tell the difference(specially the Hard Drive Icon)... well Crystal Icons have more details, than these.

They look nice, but try giving them a personal touch.

I'm using colors "crystal-compatible" to have an integration with the default theme (crystal).
These icons wants to reproduce my SKYicons theme and not crystal, have a look to SKY icons if you don't believe-me.
