 Great

This looks great. I would be even greater if there is a .deb-file that installs the script and puts entry in the multimedia-menu.

Cheers,

J

 Great Program!

I love the program, it's approaching the GUI for which i have been looking!

A few suggestions, if I may?

Don't claim it to be a Kubuntu thing, as it should run everywhere which runs KDE. This will help to spread its use.

In the TAR file which I unpack, it would be great to know how to run this program. 'kommander' didn't work from the command line and so i was lost for the longest time trying to figure it out! (For those who want to know, its 'kmdr /path/to/this/script' no quotes)

The interface looks cramped. I spread it out a bit and life is much better for me. Now I can read the buttons!

Change from two input File Names to One? Depending on that I am converting (video or audio) this one entry box should be sufficient. Having two made me think that I would have to convert the audio separately and some how merge them. I was wrong! but the two boxes don't help.

Input filename and output path don't accept spaces without the leading \ which may be confusing for new users of *nix (or even some non-power veterans). Currently, any paths with a space in them tell me the conversion is done instantly, which isn't true but how would I know without looking, and then becoming frustrated that it 'didn't work'

Output Project should maybe be named "Final File Name" or something, as a Project sounds like the overall settings, paths, etc being saved for future use

Having the Type list of 'avi-mpg' etc makes no sense to me. What is the difference with 'mpg-dvd' and 'mpg-avi' or something? Aren't they both MPGs? Maybe this is my lack of understanding, but it could be clearer. I thought that maybe the first part had to be the input type and the second the output, which made me think my options were very limited. I was wrong though...

Any way to estimate final files size?

Any way to force a resolution? Not sure if its really needed though

I would love an output for iPod playback files (m4v maybe?)

OK thats all for now, thanks a ton! :)

tnx for feedback
i know...but you must consider my limits..:)
i've never thought this app were so apreciated..
Many functions are wrong or bad..i need to add more controls for bitrate and company..need to restyling interface and others stuff..gimmie time..hehe
I've augmented compatibility with others DE/Distro..so is not only for kubuntu..but i need that Kubuntu-it members have a personal tool to convert audio and video format..it's only a choice

I hope that you didn't take this as an insulting criticism, as the application is far beyond what I would be able to do! They are just some ideas for improvements that I think would be useful.

The application is great and I appreciate your work! Keep it up and well done.
