Description:

Mouse wheel can be used more in KDE, for example to enlarge/shrink font, when mouse is over font size icons in konqueror. It\'s faster than clicking a few times, and user feels more \"in control\" (At least me :) ).

It works fine with volume control.

I know Ctrl+wheel works that way, but for laptop owners with usb mouse with long cable and without keyboard the more you can do without keyboard, the better.

and how would one scroll, then? using control? better click the 'increase font size' button or something...

I mean, when mouse cursor is over those buttons, scrolling (no matter if you press any key) changes the font size. So you can quick change text size a few levels using only your mouse.

Anyway, it's just a idea.

aaah, yes. Would be usefull if that would work, yes. Maybe you can file a wish at bugs.kde.org about this, I think it's a good idea...

Post the bugnumber here (update this proposal) and we can vote for it on bugs.kde.org ;-)

So there's be toolbar buttons that act as hotspots, where the mouse wheel could be used to change different settings.. Not only font sizes.

It could really help with one handed useability!
