Description:

BooKreader is a Linux KDE twin-panel text files reader/viewer specialized in reading e-books.
It supports multiple bookmarks, custom fonts, encoding selection.

The main feature is the reader has two-page style, so it looks like a real book.

Changelog:

Version 0.2
There are mostly performance improvements.
* Rendering speed is now more that 5 times higher.
* Fullscreen mode finally works well.

New version 0.1.1.
Background image resizing bug fixed. Thanks to Alexander Bodnarashik.

OK, BooKreader moved to http://kbookreader.org finally. I'm working on making normal site with forum, blog, screenshots etc. Hope it will be available soon.

Could please anyone create Kubuntu package(s)? I'll add them to my downloads. I'm sure many people would appreciate that.
Thanks.

I've done a Kubuntu 7.04 package, so if you want, I can send it (but I obviously need your e-mail).

And maybe it could be quite funny for you, but despite the fact that I've installed it successfuly, I can't run the booKreader... Not by KDE menu, nor by Konsole.

Do you have any idea why?

Thank you! Please, email the package to atlanter at gmail.
The problem is that on Kubuntu BooKreader is installed to /usr/local/kde/bin and this path is not in your $PATH. Anyway it should appear in the K menu after logout. Either you can run it directly.

Thank you for your program!
I've done Debian package too, and had the same trouble in Kubuntu 7.04 - there is no item in K menu, and program is not in my $PATH. So I created a link to program, and the trouble disappeared :)

But I suppose there is another way of solving this problem - maybe if use prefix when configuring, it will be possible to create a complete Kubuntu package, and manual link creation will not be needed?..

Yes, I think it's a good solution. If you want I'll put your package on http://kbookreader.org/download when it's ready. Just email it to atlanter at gmail.com.

Same problem in kubuntu 7.04

I've got 0.2beta from your site, successfully compiled and install it

But I can not find it in Kmenu even after logout :(

In what section bookreader will appear?

By default bookreader is installed in /usr/local/bin or/ usr/local/kde/bin.
./configure --prefix=/usr should help

Didn't someone create a .deb? I don't see it on the download page. If anybody has it (the one that installs in /usr/bin, please), can I have it?

Thanks a lot!
