Description:

This is my first mockup for a future, slick, integrated desktop environment, hoping to help someway for Topaz.

Some ideas taken from the net, some maybe new. What do you think?

Please note that this is only a mock-up, not a really existing theme, I just wanted to show some ideas. This means that you cannot install/use/have this on your computer, but instead you are encouraged to leave opinions, comments, suggestions, etc. either here or in the related blog.

Small note: no, that "evil-looking thing" (as someone called it :D ) you can see on the wallpaper won't become the Gnome 3.0 logo. I just put it there to experiment something with Inkscape and I didn't remove it.

Note also that I'm not part at all of any Gnome-related team (developers, artists, whatever). So, this isn't anything "official", nor directly related to Topaz. It just shows some ideas that I'd like if implemented sometime in the future.

This is fantastic!

That on-going section is brilliant! I imagine it's not an easy thing to implement but really, it would be great to have that.

I'm absolutely platform-agnostic, so coming from a OsX/Unbuntu/Win user I can definitely say this is something I'd use and be proud of using.

congrats man!

That 'On Going' section is the only part that exists now!

I like this theme but icon's.. is bad. I like new KDE oxygen icon's styles

IMHO, Tango icons are better, expecially at small size.
But this is not the point. This _isn't_ a theme, it is a mock-up to discuss new ideas for the whole desktop, and is not intended to decide the appearence of a future DE.
So, please, think about the concepts, ideas, things and not the appearence.
Not that look is not important, but it must come after having a solid base.
Bye

I read again my previous comment and it could sound a bit rude.
Just two things:
- it is not directed to you, I would just like people to say something about ideas and how they would like the dock to be organized, for example.
- thank you for liking the thing and commenting. The icon theme is not a problem, as everybody (if MayB will ever became real) would be able to choose his favorite.

This looks f..ing fantastic! What an exellent idea.

What if U could select what you need/use the most, like "widgets" in OSX. Is that possible?

Keep up the good work!

I didn't take a screenshot. Indeed this is a _fake_ screenshot (a mock-up): I just drawn it with Inkscape.
