Merge Amarok and Kaffeine???

just tossing the idea around...

It would be nice it Kaffeine, instead of being a seperate app, was just encorperated into amarok. That way we could keep all our media in one collection, and one application.

it would not require that much new code, and would make for one much more complete application.

Just an idea, want to see if you guys like it.

This is a good idea !

For me, each application mist do one thing :

  • Kaffeine : video

  • Amarok : sound, musique, ...

I think it would be better if Kaffeine used database instead of adding videosupport to amarok.
But I imagine a Fork of amarok adding video support should be easy to do by a motivated dev ??

Mergin Kaffeine with Amarok means more memroy useage and more complicated program

I prefer to keep them separated

better to add video support to amarok without using any of kaffeine.
i've given up on trying to get kaffeine to run for more than about 10 seconds without crashing on my system.

Why not make them more alike than merging them.

For Amarok
1. Better visuelisation in Amarok.
2. Video support for music videos.

For Kaffeine
3. A Video Libary for Kaffeine.
4. Sync with Multimedia Player.
5. Internet TV.
6. Smart Playlists for viewing series.
7. Better Eye candy.
8. Making a special user interface for fullscreen mode.
