Description:

The name and screenshot are self-explanatory. Making gtk programme\'s menus appear at the top of the screen like you can do with Qt.

 Nice idea, but...

KDE itself cannot do this. This is something that is up to the GTK devs to accomplish. GTK doesn't provide a way to take the menu bar out of the window, short of hiding it.

Well, it's just a 100% hypothetical idea.

it's a stupid place to ask for it. why would you want to ask KDE developers to change anything in GTK2+... even if they did send a patch, the GTK ppl wouldn't accept it - i'm sure they would tell us its not usable.

I'm saying this for the second time now, it is just an idea.

well, its great you had the idea, but it is totally useless to post it here - post it at a gnome or GTK site. this is just wasting space, bandwith and time.

As are your unnecessarily harsh comments. Your suggestions might be better received if you worded them something like, "You know, that's a good idea, but the guys here can't do anything about it. Try posting it over there instead."

See? Nobody feels bad, and nobody argues.

you guys (and gals,) this is not a stupid idea. not only that, but it possibly could be accomplished in the kde code. all we would need is a background process that starts when kde starts to detect when a gtk based application is started. then, it would apply a modified gtk code that would grab the menu bar and place it in kde's menu bar. i personally like the idea and i hope that what i have said is useful to any developers willing to take up the project.
