 Great look and feel

by hareldvd on: Jul 28 2006

Score 50%

Great performance, great visual design.

Installation is not clear. My suggestion add INSTALL.txt file to explain the simple install operation.

Whishlist:
Add fast directory access buttons for ~, .., = (same dir as opposite panel)
Add terminal button
Add "calculate size" for dirs.

Piotr, mogę tylko podziękować bo to kawał dobrej roboty. Jesteś przykładem na to, że Open Source to potężne narzędzia robione z sercem i dbałością o każdy szczegół. Jeszcze raz dziękuję.

 File associations

Hey great tool, finally I've found what was looking for ;-)

But there's a question: how can I setup file associations? Double clicking on a mp3 file for instance does not start xmms.

Best regards

I really like your tool, vielen dank.

Tho we are still missing the link between clicking a file and then automatically starting the default application for that file (for instance mp3). Maybe in a next release then ?

Thanks.

One extra suggestion.
It would be handy to change the function of the F6 key (Rename) into Move. Moving files is something which happens a lot more then renaming IMO.

Yes I know you can remove the source files with the copy command, but tools like this are made for fast file-handling. Moving them with F5 is not a very fast method.

A small bug.
If you choose media/cdrom or media/floppy and nothing is present in these drives then beesoft doesn't time out and it needs to be killed and restarted.

 ownership of files

by lightwarrior on: Nov 7 2007

And another suggestion.

It would be nice if the following would be added to the preferences/ settings of beesoft.

When copying or moving files ownership is changed to the current user. Most of the time copying or moving files ownership should not change (the -p parameter of the cp command).

When I use beesoft as root and move files of my normal user then these files automatically become owned by root. This is not wanted most of the time.

Add a choice in preferences/ settings how ownership during copying of files should work by default.
